Cow juice

Yesterday Kayleigh started drinking whole milk. I was nervous to give it to her thinking she would notice a difference. I shouldn't have been nervous, this is the kid that will eat anything! Anyway, she drank it just fine as if it had been formula. I was so happy! I did warm it up a little bit so it wouldn't be ice cold. Now she just needs to learn to crawl and we'll be on our way to a toddler.

Teeth

On Christmas morning Kayleigh woke up with a surprise, her first tooth!!!! It must have popped through during the night because it wasn't there the day before. I noticed it first thing as I fed her her breakfast. I got so excited and yelled to Michael to come and see. Unlike the song, it's not one of her two front teeth, but we'll take it. It's actually her bottom left one. I noticed today as I was feeding her that her bottom right one is very close to coming through too. I bet within a couple of days she'll have it. My little baby is growing up!! I am very excited, to say the least, that she finally has a tooth now.

Christmas Eve

Our house with freshly fallen snow. This was taken very early Christmas morning, like 1:00 a.m. when we got home from my parents.
Opening presents at Nana and Grandpa's house on Christmas Eve.
Kayleigh all cuddled up for the ride home from Omi's. We've turned her car seat around and it's great!
We went to Omi's (my grandma) on Christmas Eve day. Kayleigh got this new animal book.

All ready

As of yesterday, my presents are wrapped and under the tree! Yahoo! I'm proud of myself, with the busy December we've had, to be done. When you don't buy much there isn't much to do though. I can't believe it, Christmas is next week and then it's over. 2008 is basicallyhere. Kayleigh is almost one and it amazes me. She still isn't crawling and has yet to pop the first tooth through her gums. I keep waiting and I know one of these days she'll surprise me. Michael has had a few days here and there off of work due to our busy schedules and it's been nice to have him home. I'll be sad when holiday season is over and he's back to work every day. Kayleigh will miss him too.

It's been awhile

Well, needless to say, we have been very busy these last two weeks with rehearsals and concerts. Kayleigh has been a trooper (along with all of her babysitters) and we all made it through happy and healthy. Now we have a week to finish our Christmas shopping and wrap all the gifts. Christmas is a wonderful time of year and we are excited that the 25th day of December is almost here. Merry Christmas!

Ginger Bread House

This year my mom got all the grandkids ginger bread houses. They can be bought as a kit at the store with the gingerbread already made. Since this seems to be the hardest part to me, I think it's great you can just buy it! Kayleigh is still pretty little to do a house so I did it for her, but I bet if we do them next year she might like it more. The kit comes with the icing and candy, but we added some of our own stuff too. Merry Christmas!

St. Nicholas Day

December 6th is St. Nicholas Day. Growing up I loved to celebrate this Eurpean holiday because it meant I would get another present! How bad is that? The night of the 5th, we would put a shoe out and during the night St. Nicholas would come and leave a gift. Since I have enjoyed this tradition I wanted to for sure do it with my kids. Michael got the new Josh Groban C.D. in his shoe and Kayeigh got a new book, "That's not my snowman!". For myself I bought Home Alone, the movie. I really like that Christmas movie and want to watch it every year.

Her 1st Advent calendar

Yesterday my friend Erin came over and brought 2 Advent calendars for us. Growing up I loved these calendars! Each day it was sooo fun to open the little window and find a piece of chocolate! So, today, since it's already the 5th of December I thought I'd better get opening windows! I thought it would be fun for Kayleigh to help me, even though she is still little. There was plastic wrap around each one, so I started tearing it and then let her finish (the 1st picture) and she thought that was great fun! Then I opened window #1 for December 1st and out popped a chocolate! Of course she didn't know what it was so I put it in her mouth and she soon discovered that she liked it! With the 2 calendars and it being the 5th already, that makes 10 chocolates to eat (thank goodness I can still do that math) and 6 of those Kayleigh ate! She had chocolate running down her face and fingers and she loved it! After #1 I didn't have to put them in her mouth any more, she did it herself. It was so cute to watch! I can't wait till Christmas morning!

The 1st Sunday of Advent

Kayleigh as the baby Jesus. Funny when Mary is the same size as her baby!
The whole cast of the Nativity.
Mary (Grace) wanted her turn in the cradle.

Oh, how sweet! These two cousins can't get enough of each other.

Aunt Jeni!
Aunt Stephi!
Going to this party tonight helped me get into the Christmas spirit! I'm very excited for all the rest of the festivities this season! Merry Christmas!

Christmas at the Kennard's (4th annual)

Last night we continued our tradition of having Michael's friends over for dinner. The Hamblin's couldn't join us this year and they were missed very much. We did talk to Alaina and Miriam via web cam, that was fun! Alaina is almost ready for that baby to come out, good luck! They are thinking it's a girl, but are excited to find out for sure.

Getting ready to send out Christmas cards

Our sweet baby girl! She posed great so we could get some good pictures for our first ever family Christmas card!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Kayleigh enjoying her pumpkin pie!
Isn't this so funny?
The chefs of the day, thanks!

Our table all ready.
Kayleigh and Grace playing patticake!
Kayleigh in her turkey shirt, it says "Thankful for Mommy."
Grace is so cute with Kayleigh! Here she had to make sure Kayleigh wouldn't fall over. The girls had so much fun playing together! Grace also wore another shirt during the day that said she had a secret! On the back of the shirt it said she is going to be a big sister! Yahoo!!! Marie (my sister) is due June 25th, putting her 9 1/2 weeks along! We are excited for her!
Thanksgiving turned out really nice for us. We had a wonderful dinner and lots of pies! I even made a crust for one and then dumped cherry pie filling in it.
We are so grateful for everything that we have. We are thankful for our good health, for Kayleigh, for our home and food, for our cars that run well, and for the gospel. We are so blessed! We hope all of you also had an enjoyable day with family.
