Cleaning

I really do hate cleaning, but I LOVE when it is done. I love seeing the lines on the carpet from the vacuum and a smudge free glass table. With Kayleigh crawling and pulling herself up on things now fingerprints are easy to find. Just ask Michael, this drives me crazy! I've had to limit myself to only cleaning them off once a week. I could do it about a million times a day though. For now the house is very clean (till Kayleigh wakes up) and I love it!

You Belong in 1952

You're fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

You Are Mulan!

Strong and spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but the traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

Which Disney Princess Are You?
I think this is great because I love Mulan! Who are you?

Weekend

This weekend was a busy one as usual, but pretty good. On Friday night we had lance and Kelly over for dinner and games. We played a game called Residual Income, kind of like Cash Flow. It ended up being pretty fun! On Saturday I went to work in the morning and then headed out to my sister's house to help them move. I didn't stay very long as it's hard to help with a little one but Michael stayed a good part of the day and helped haul boxes. When he got home he mowed and trimmed our lawn, it looks great! When he finally made it in we watched the Jazz game and thankfully they won! We are getting nervous for Tuesday night, hopefully they can pull it off and hopefully Korver can make a 3!

Sunday brought early meetings for Michael and home teaching along with Elder's Quorom visits in the evening. I did sharing time in Primary and taught my Sunbeams. That evening we went over to Kennards to visit. It was fun to see Kayleigh play with Tyler and Brooke seemed to enjoy herself too. After leaving there we ran to my parents to drop some stuff off and then came home to go to bed.

Prayer

We've been teaching Kayleigh how to fold her arms before we eat and when she goes to bed for prayers. It's really cute, she holds her hands and not really her arms. Today as I sat down to feed her some applesauce for breakfast she folded her hands. It was a great reminder to me that we needed to thank Heavenly Father for our food. We have so much and are so blessed.

Then, at lunch she did the exact same thing. It was so cute! I am amazed at what she picks up on and learns. We love you Kayleigh!

Called to serve...

The funniest thing happened this morning. I sat down to play some hymns (don't want all my piano skills to go down the drain) and after playing "Called to Serve" I turned around and looked at Kayleigh who quickly started to clap, it was so cute! Somehow she's learned that after people play/perform you clap, what a smart learner. I think she's picked this up from American Idol and Dancing with the Stars-I don't really know, just a guess.

More dentist

Today it was my turn to go to the dentist. Luckily, no cavities! I am always so nervous when the dentist comes in to check you after the hygienist has done their work. Thankfully my visit was pain free. Michael gets to go this afternoon and I'm hoping he doesn't have any cavities either. That would be great!

I am very excited though because after Michael's appointment at 2 he is just coming home, yay! We hardly see him in the day light so this will be a fun afternoon. Probably won't do too much, but that's okay. Actually, he is going to move his drum set out of the living room, I can't wait for that! I do wish we had some living room furniture that I liked though. Oh well, someday...

2 teeth

This weekend we have realized that Kayleigh has gotten 2 more teeth, one of which is her second molar. I know I've said it before, but I don't think it can be much fun to have teeth coming in, what a tough girl!

We're back!

Well, Kayleigh and I survived the St. George trip. Kayleigh probably enjoyed it a lot more than I did though. She went on walks and played a lot with Nana. I sat in 13 hours of continuing education lectures. Actually, compared to years in the past, this year I actually learned and understood some things. Usually I don't get any of what they are saying because I haven't been to pharmacy school. The weather was really nice down there, Saturday was very windy, but it was windy here when we got home too.

Kayleigh I thought did great! We only stopped one time going and coming. She enjoyed eating and watching her Baby Einstein's DVD in the car. Sleeping she did pretty good with too. Her naps were great! At night she did wake up a few times and I would go in and comfort her but other than that she was a great vacationer.

The highlight of the trip for me was when I got to meet Thurl Bailey, "Big T." He was our motivational speaker at convention. I loved his message. He talked about how a basketball means so much more to him than just basketball. For him it meant a college education and lots of opportunity. The coach at his junior high in Washington, D.C. told him after 2 years of trying out for the team to not try out again because he wasn't good at basketball and never would be. He would just be wasting his time and the coaches if he tried out again. But, since that coach got a new job, Thurl did give it another shot and made it!

Thurl answered some questions when he was done and if any wanted to know, his favorite team that he played for was when he was in Italy (where he joined the LDS church). His toughest opponent was Larry Bird and if he could meet anyone in history he would meet Jesus Christ. After it was over I got to shake his hand and get his autograph, he is so tall! He also sang us 3 songs, all were good. He is such a talented and well-rounded person.

St. George

Today Kayleigh and I are leaving for St. George. I wish I could say it's for a vacation, but it's for a pharmacy convention. Every two years I have to get 20 hours of continuing education for my technician license and this is a great way to get about 13 of them. My mom is coming down too to watch Kayleigh since Michael has to work the rest of the week and wouldn't be able to watch her here. So, my dad and I will sit in classes all day and my mom, Kayleigh and my brother, Nathan, will just hang out. I'm really nervous to see how Kayleigh will do sleeping down there and the long drive. Wish me luck! We'll be back Saturday evening, so until then, have a nice weekend!

15 month stats

Kayleigh went in to see the doctor today. Wow, is she growing! She is 28 lbs. (97%tile) and 33 1/4 in. (99%tile) long. Her doctor said, "Are you about ready to take your mom to kindergarten?" It was funny! He said everything looks great. She got two more shots today, boosters to ones she got when she was 6 months. We go in again at 18 months and she'll get some more shots but then we are basically done until her kindergarten shots.

She was very sad that she had to get shots today, but once again loved her sucker. And this time I came prepared with a bib!

Crawling

The attack of the dog

Okay, it wasn't an attack, but that title sounded cool. Yesterday I went out to check the mail and as I turned around to go back to the house, a big black rottweiler came out of nowhere and was running full speed right at me. I've heard to not run from dogs, although that's what I wanted to do, so instead I did the first thing that popped into my head, I yelled really loud "GO!" and pointed with my finger. The dog stopped immediately and just waited as I walked by (shaking like crazy) and hurried into my house.

I've never seen this dog before and it scared me sooo bad! I'm kind of afraid of dogs if I don't know them and whose they are. I was so glad the dog stopped and that nothing worse happened. I'm also glad I didn't have Kayleigh with me, she was inside sleeping. Needless to say, I'm now afraid of checking the mail.

My little reader

Kayleigh loves to sit and pull all of her books off of her shelf in her room. She can entertain herself here for about 30 minutes. Maybe one day she'll be a great reader!

Just some pictures

Kayleigh always trys to eat her golf balls, it's so funny.
Whenever I tell Kayleigh we need to take her picture, she doesn't smile, she just looks at me.
I love this one, check out her big blue eyes!

Since I hadn't posted any pics in awhile I thought I'd put these on.

This girl loves that moon.

In this video you can't really see anything because it's so dark, but you can hear everything. Kayleigh was so excited last night when she was able to see the moon in the sky at night. We've been waiting for it to finally show up, since it's a new moon. She asks about it everyday and finally yesterday we got to see it.

Taxes

Good news! We found out today we don't have to pay any money to the government. In fact, we are getting some money back, that's always a nice surprise. A couple of years ago we had to pay a good amount and it wasn't any fun so every year at this time I get a little nervous. I think having a baby in '07 helped us out a little, thanks Kayleigh. So, I think we'll be purchasing a new computer, yay! The one we have is sooo slow and always says we have errors, so that will be nice to get a new one.

Kayleigh's developing fast!

It seems that this past weekend Kayleigh has been full of firsts! On Friday we were at my parent's house watching my brother and she did two great things, sucked from a straw and took her first steps alone. We are so proud of her! What is very frustrating though is that she walked very timidly by herself about 5 times. I sent Michael home to get our camera, when he came back, she wouldn't do it. Since then she hasn't done it. What a stinker! If you stand her up and let go then she will just stand there forever, not even moving her feet. So, I'll continue to wait for my little girl to begin walking.

Her crawling skills have gotten better though and she seems to do it more often of her own free will. And her last big thing for this weekend was that on Sunday she was crying and had her mouth open big and I could see in well and to my surprise this girl has already popped her first molar! It's on her top left side. I can't believe it.

More movies

This weekend I took two more off my list of must sees. We rented Singles 2nd Ward-full of Mormon humor and funny but cheesy. I think I liked the first one better. I do enjoy when the same actors are used in 2nds though which they did so that was great. We also watched Turn Around, another LDS film, it was very cute and had a great message, why couldn't they just kiss at the end though? That is my only complaint. We've also rented August Rush-heard great things about this one, so hopefully tonight we can watch it.

April Fools

First off, what was the opening of American Idol all about? What an April Fools! For our own April Fools Michael called me after he got off work to tell me he'd just been rear ended. Michael often teases me with things like this so right off I said, "Are you serious?" He said yes and my heart sunk, his tone was very convincing. I said I needed to get Kayleigh out of the car and down for a nap but that I'd call him back. When I hung up the phone I thought, it's April Fools Day. I didn't want to get my hopes up though that he hadn't really gotten in an accident so I hurried and took care of Kayleigh and called him back. He continued to tell me how a guy hit him because he didn't see that the light was red. They didn't call the cops but Michael got all of his insurance info. I was kind of mad because I always think you should call the cops. Anyway, I told Michael that and he said, "Well, on any other day of the year I would have." Ha ha! I was really glad he hadn't been hit, that would have been awful!

It's a miracle!

Kayleigh crawled today! It was at my mom's house (I was there watching my brother) and there was a tin on the floor she wanted. I told her to go and get it and she did! It was pretty close to her so I thought it was maybe a fluke. When my mom got home I had her try it again, he had to entice her with a toy, but she did it! Up on her hands and knees, just like real crawling, it wasn't scooting. I can't believe it! Now that I know she can do it no more nice mommy getting everything for her. I don't know how much she'll do it since she is close to walking now, but we'll see. I am glad she did it though! There's something about my parents that makes this girl do things though. She was born on my dad's birthday and crawled on my mom's birthday, hmm...
