Every year my dad likes to dress up for Halloween at his pharmacy. This year he thought it would be fun to be Captain Jack Sparrow. Terrie, his technician decided to be Calypso and their clerk dressed as a pirate. I helped my dad this morning with his make-up and then off he went to work.
Kayleigh and I went to get flu shots this morning (Kayleigh did't even cry, she did great) and after we went over to see my dad and take some pictures. I think they look great! My dad's beard was a little white so we used mascara to blacken it up a bit.
On the way home I stopped and did the early voting for the election. My mom met me at the courthouse and watched Kayleigh while I waited in line for 25 minutes (I was worried it would be way longer) while I voted.
Tonight we'll go Trick-or-Treating with Kayleigh. She is so excited! I've told her that people are going to give her treats to put in her pumpkin bucket. I don't think she quite gets it yet, but she is going to be in heaven when she realizes people are going to give her candy, or peats as she would say.
Happy Halloween to all and be safe.

Halloween party at my parent's house
Last Saturday (I know, I'm very slow at getting this posted) we had our annual Halloween party at my mom's house. It was a lot of fun! The girls loved playing outside while the adults carved pumpkins. (The picture of the pumpkin is the one my dad did.)
We had a good dinner of stew and rolls, a spider roll that is. Kayleigh ate a whole leg plus some, that shouldn't be surprising though. For dessert we made, mostly my dad made, a German dessert called Krippelchen. It's basically like a doughnut whole, it's deep fried and then you put cinnamon and sugar on it. They were very good!
After dinner we played Pin the wart on the Witch. We also divided into two teams and had a race to see who could make a mummy the fastest, see pictures. I think the girls won because I look more like a real mummy.
The girls were cute in their costumes and I think my pig was pretty good too. Thanks for a fun Halloween party, Mom and Dad!

"I need my purse, Mom."
The other day I was headed out the door to go to Costco. I was trying to get Kayleigh out the door but she kept saying "poorse" and I wasn't sure what she needed. Then it clicked, she wanted her purse! (I had a little pink bag laying around that she found and put her keys in and an old cell phone of ours.) It was so funny! So I said, "Oh, you want your purse?" She said "Uh-huh" and off we went to Costco. Two girly girls ready to go!

Pack's Pumpkin Patch
Today a play group in our ward went to a local pumpkin patch/hay maze/corn maze. Kayleigh and I went and it was so much fun! It was also very cold and windy when we went at 10:00. They charge for the corn maze and if you want to buy any pumpkins but the hay maze is free and so is the pumpkin patch.
Kayleigh really enjoyed being able to run around and explore. She thought all the pumpkins just sitting around were cool. I bought her a small one to put on our porch. She enjoyed being with her friends from nursery too. Our neighbor, Maura, is the other girl in the picture with Kayleigh.
I'm glad to know this place is around, maybe we'll go back and take Michael with us. For sure we'll go next year. Happy Harvesting!

Moving a pharmacy
Last night I went to work at the Intermountain pharmacy to help move everything to the new pharmacy. The health center that the pharmacy has been in has undergone, and still is undergoing, a remodel. Last night quite a few offices and the pharmacy were moved into the new part.
It was quite an adventure! The pharmacy closed early at 5:00, I got there shortly after that, and I rolled back into my drive way at midnight. Having to move all those drugs and re-alphabetize them took awhile. I wasn't sure in the end if I knew my ABC's or not!
I think the new pharmacy looks so nice! The other one was over ten years old so obviously it would look better. Unfortunately, it's still not the greatest layout. The counter space we have is still the same. What is nice is we have a big storage room in the back now to put all the needed things that don't need to be seen by patients.
I don't work until next Saturday so I'm hoping by then they'll have things more organized. I feel bad for those who worked today, it was a little messy still.

Hello to the world
Yes, we are still alive at our house. It's been awhile since I've posted. Kayleigh has been sick with a cold and didn't sleep good at all over the weekend. Michael got up with her Saturday and Sunday nights because I slept right thru her crying.
On Saturday night he was up for an hour and a half with her (this was at 3 in the morning) because she was wide awake and didn't want to sleep. I always tell him that he needs to just wake me up and I'll wake up with her. He was SO NICE though and let me sleep! Sunday morning came fast and early though, especially with our ward changing to 9 a.m. We were 1:00 but as of last week with some boundary changes in our ward we switched times.
I was looking forward to the 9:00 time that I thought we would get in January, but I guess it came a little early. We will now have that time until January of 2010. It works well for Kayleigh to be able to just come home from church, have lunch and go down for a nap. BUT, it's so hard to get up at 7:30 to get ready! Yes, I know I am a wuss, I'm just used to sleeping in a little more. Now I'm thinking 11:00 church will be nice.

I've checked my mail twice today already, then realized what today was. How lame that I can't even remember the holidays.

"Peeeat!"
Can I have a treat, Mom?
You are such a mean mommy for not giving me one!
Okay, I guess you know what is best for me, I'll wait till you say I can have one.
Let me explain my title, that's what Kayleigh says when she wants a treat, which is often. She stands at the pantry door and begs for one. It drives me crazy! I don't mind letting her have a treat every now and then but she would eat them all day if I let her.

Kayleigh's big girl room
The before shots. (She had her name in green and purple letters before I painted it brown, I just forgot to take a picture of that before I painted them.)
Last night we took down Kayleigh's crib and set up her new twin bed. We'd been thinking about it for awhile now and decided it was time. I'm glad we decided that too since as we took it down I noticed the warning on it that says over 35 inch children shouldn't sleep in it anymore. Kayleigh is around 34 I think. I love the bedding I got for her and think it looks better on the bed than in the package it came in. Michael hung up the valance and I made her bed and rearranged stuff. Since the crib was going, I figured it was a good time to say goodbye to the changing table too. Her room is a big girl room now. I think she really likes her new bed! I was so nervous for how the sleeping would go, but so far so good, no complaining! She went down last night just fine and is asleep as I type this for a nap. I am so happy! Now I'll just hope potty training goes this smooth. :-)

Conference Weekend
We had a great weekend enjoying Conference and being with family. Kayleigh finally got to wear one of her new fall outfits since the weather has changed. I thought she looked so cute in it. I put some mousse in her hair too. Too bad as soon as she rubs up against her car seat or the couch the crunchiness rubs off.
