Girls and hair

I am quickly learning that doing Kayleigh's hair is a challenge. I love having it look cute but it never stays that way for very long. Since her hair is getting longer (FINALLY!) I've started trying a few different things with it. Here's some cute pictures of one I did the other day.

Family Home Evening

Once a month we get together with my family for Family Home Evening. Last night we got together for March and we celebrated my mom's birthday which is coming up this Wednesday. I had picked up a cake at Dick's for the party and ever since I did Kayleigh has wanted some. Finally we cut the cake and since it was carrot cake she didn't love it, but enjoyed the ice cream. During the presents Kayleigh wanted to open some too. I had to explain to her it was Nana's birthday and not hers. I said that maybe for Easter she would get a present she could open. Anyway, we had a nice time together-and I enjoyed the carrot cake.

Happy birthday on Wednesday day, Mom! I hope you have a nice day. Thanks for everything you do for me and my family. We love you!

Playing at the park

Over the weekend I thought it would be fun for Kayleigh to show her Daddy how good she is getting at climbing the big toy at the park. So Saturday evening before getting some dinner at Cafe Rio we ran to the park for a few minutes. Kayleigh loves being able to go down the slide by herself!

Ring ring

The other day the funniest thing happened! I was in the shower and Kayleigh was sitting on my bed watching a show, or so I thought. As I turned off the water to get out I heard Kayleigh saying "Hello?" She often talks on her pretend cell phone so I figured that's what she was doing. But then I heard another voice...I got nervous. Then I realized the voice was Michael's. Hmm...still I couldn't figure it out. Then I heard Michael laughing like crazy and I hurried out to see what was going on.

Come to find out, Michael had called home from work and Kayleigh answered the phone! She has never done that before. Michael said she picked it up and said "Hello?" He asked her what she was doing and she said "watching Little People." Then he asked where Mommy was. She promptly said "Shower." I am so glad it was Michael on the phone!

The Roof

Last week was appreciation week on Temple Square for all members associated with the Tabernacle choir. During this week they give 20% off at all their restaurants on Temple Square. I thought this would be a perfect time to go to The Roof Restaurant. We got my parents, sister and brother-in-law to come with us. We all got baby sitters and out we went. The food was really good! We had a nice time talking and eating.

It was a pretty busy night there. There were lots of Prom dinner dates besides it being a Saturday night. Our server made us feel a little rushed to leave after we'd been there for a little over an hour. We all were kind of bugged because we would have loved to stay a little longer and enjoy more dessert/food. This was my third time there but never before was I given 3 "hints" that it was time to go. At a place like this you don't eat fast-it's a buffet people!

I'm sure I'll go back because I love the food, view, experience, etc. but it was kind of too bad. Oh well, we still had fun.

Spring-like weather

We have been loving the warm weather this week! I've taken Kayleigh to the park twice with some neighbors and Kayleigh has also played a lot in my parent's backyard. I know it's going to snow next week, but I have sure enjoyed getting out the past few days. Kayleigh can actually play on the big toy this year without needing too much help from Mommy or Daddy. It's fun to watch her play and have fun. I am excited for spring!

Gotta love the picture of Michael on the slide.

Cookies

I wanted to do something fun with Kayleigh since it was St. Patrick's Day yesterday. So I called my mom and sister and we got together and made sugar cookies. It was really fun! Kayleigh and Grace got covered in flour and had fun pushing down the cookie cutters in the dough. They turned out great and the frosting makes them taste even better!

The kicker to the whole thing, I forgot my camera. But, I took lots of pictures with my dad's camera and told him to send them to me. So, check back and hopefully I'll have added some pictures to the post.

Kaili's Birthday Party

Last night we were invited to Kaili's birthday celebration. Kaili belongs to BreeAnn (my cousin) and Tyler, she is a cutie. It was at Jungle Gyms and it was a blast! The big birthday girl, Kaili, turns 5 today. My sister came with her family and my cousin, BreeAnn, had most of her family there too.

I had been telling Kayleigh for the past few weeks we were going. I showed her pictures from the last time we went there and she was pretty excited. Yesterday morning she was SO EXCITED to go! Finally the time came and we went. As soon as we walked in she got a huge smile on her face and went running to the rides.

We got some great pictures of the girls too. I love the ones of them all together. When they closed at 9 Kayleigh was so sad to have to go. I promised her we'd come back sometime. With her reaction Michael and I can't wait to take her to Lagoon this summer. Thanks, BreeAnn, for a fun night, it was great.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Finally...a post

I know, I haven't posted in awhile. It's not like we haven't done anything, I just haven't posted anything. I did load some pictures off of the camera today though so I thought I'd put some on here of a few weeks ago. Michael's sister's family came in town and we got together for dinner. The kids had a lot of fun playing together. Kayleigh and Brooke are only 8 months apart and they are starting to enjoy playing together. Hope to see you again soon, guys!

Hooray

I never thought the day would come, but...we payed off my car this weekend. It feels so good! Thanks to our tax refund, we were able to do it. It's crazy to think we actually OWN the car and that the credit union doesn't any more. Hopefully we'll still get some good use out of the car now that we don't have a payment on it.
