A big picture post

Alright, don't have much time, but wanted to post a few things here quickly.  Wyatt is 4 weeks old today and I can't believe it.  Part of me feels like he's always been with our family and it feels like forever but then it's funny because it hasn't been that long at all.  I feel like he's already lost that newborn, brand new look.  His face is filling out as well as his little legs.
He is doing great!  He pretty much just sleeps and eats.  Yesterday and today he's been a little more fussy than normal, I hope it isn't a foreshadowing of things to come.  I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Kayleigh and Landon are still loving having him around.  They are both very willing to go and grab something that I might need for him.  They both still ask to hold him every once in awhile.  Landon used to call him "Wautties" but has resorted to "Wy-Wy", both of which are so cute to hear him say.
Wyatt had his 2 week check-up back on the 14th.  He was 8.4 lbs. and 21 1/2 inches long.  I take him back for his 2 month check-up on April 30th.
We are slowly adjusting to being a family of five.  I am feeling pretty good, just super tired.  When people ask how it's going, I say good.  It really is good, just the timing of everything is sometimes hard.  When I'm nursing there isn't much else I can do.  Since I nurse like 7 times a day, that's almost 7 hours of just sitting there, no wonder it's hard to get anything else done.  And why is it that when I am nursing the other 2 kids need me for something??  It's just how it goes, I know.
The above pictures are just some of my favs that I've taken over the past few weeks, I hope you enjoy.

Kayleigh helping

I like to give my kids bottles early on so that they get used to it.  Then it makes it possible for me to work and not be tied down to the baby to feed them.  Yesterday I figured we should try one out and Kayleigh was very excited to feed him!  Today she has been begging me to let her feed him again.  I keep trying to explain to her that it's good for me to feed him too, but this girl prefers bottle feeding.  Thanks for your help, Kay.  You are such a great big sister.

Bruise buddies

Look at these cute brothers!  Poor Landon ran into Kayleigh on Monday while they were outside enjoying the awesome weather.  He hit that bone under his eye just right and instantly got this nasty bruise.  Since Wyatt has his big bruise too my mom said I should take a picture of them together.  Landon didn't really want to hold Wyatt for the picture so you really can't see his bruise very well, but you get the point, right?

Wyatt's 1st few days home

He mostly just eats, sleeps and poops!  He's been a great baby so far.  The other day Kayleigh said, "It's fun to have a baby around he house."  The day following that we gave him a little sponge bath and during that he pooped a couple of times and so I kept changing his diaper to which Kayleigh said, "Babies are a lot of work."  Yes, they are!  But hey, there isn't anything like it either.  Newborns are fun to watch and enjoy.

Going Home

After 3 days in the hospital we came home.  Wyatt was not thrilled with his first car ride, but thankfully it was only about 7 minutes long.  Kayleigh and Landon were very happy to have myself and Wyatt home at last.  Three days without Mom was hard on them and Michael.  We all survived, though, and are grateful we got to bring Wyatt home with us instead of having to leave him at the hospital like we did with Landon.

We had great support and lots of love while Wyatt and I were in the hospital.  I failed to get photos of Grandpa Royal, Aunt Staci, Grandma  Suzy and Aunt Marie, sorry guys.  We know you came too and appreciate you, too!

Welcome Wyatt Aaron

Wyatt made his way into the world on February 29th, 2012.  He entered our world at 9:29 p.m. weighing in as our biggest baby yet at 7 lbs. 13 oz.  He was 20 1/2 inches long.  My labor was the shortest of all my kids.  Started having consistent contractions at about 5 in the afternoon and went to the hospital at 8:00, was in the OR by 9:09 and twenty minutes later they had him out.  he was quite far down in the birth canal and so the doctor had to use a vacuum to get him out along with the help of the doctor's hand, hence the big bruise on Wyatt's head.  Luckily the bruise is healing nicely and soon will be gone.  We love having him in our family!  The kids adore him and we are slowly getting used to life as a family of 5.
