Sick

Unfortunately Erika is sick again. She's going to the doctor this morning. It might be bronchitis or even pneumonia, or both! I feel so bad for her. She just got better from what was probably the flu and now this. Man, it sucks being sick. I hope she gets better soon. I hope Kayleigh doesn't get it either.

Erika, I love you! I hope you get better soon!!

LOVE TAG!

Thanks for the tag, Roz!

-What is your husband's name? Michael Aaron.
-How long have you been together? Started dating in '03 and now it's '08 so 5 years!
-How long did you date? Too long! (about a year and a half)
-Who eats more? It depends, but probably me.
-Who said I love you first? He did and I still feel bad because I just said, thank you! I didn't want to say I love you back until I knew for sure that I did.
-Who is taller? Michael is, I am soooo glad, that was a must.
-Who has more speeding tickets? Michael does, I don't have any, yay! I should clarify though, Michael's was from a long time ago, right now our records are clean.
-Who is smarter? Well, that's a complicated question. I think I'm better at studying and math, etc, but Michael is way smarter at directions and common sense.
-Who is more sensitive? I think it's probably about even, maybe Michael is a little more than I am.
-Who does the laundry? ME!!!! Michael will put a load in if I ask him to though.
-Who does the dishes? Mostly me, sometimes Michael does when he helps clean up dinner.
-Who sleeps on the right? If you are looking at the bed from the foot he does, but if you're in bed then I do, does that make sense?
-Who pays the bills? We have most of them set up on the inernet to automatically come out, but I do pay our utilities and rent, so me I guess.
-Who mows the lawn? We both do. Michael really likes to and does really nice straight lines, but I'm home more so I do it too. I've even tried trimming I am pretty proud of myself for that.
-Who cooks dinner? I do.
-Who drives when you are together? He does, I always think it's weird when I see couples together and the wife is driving. Not that it matters though.
-Who is more stubborn? I am I think.
-Who kissed whom first? He kissed me!
-Who asked who out first? He did! I am all about the guys doing that stuff. I always hated girls choice dances in high school.
-Who proposed? Michael did and it was soooo cute! He did it on Oakridge Country Club at night. He lit a tree up with lights, had music playing and hot chocolate.
-Who has more siblings? I do. Michael only has one sister. I have a sister and 2 brothers.

Swimming

Hi, Mommy!
I love this one!
She really wanted to get this ball in her mouth, it was so funny!

My sister and niece came up to swim at my mom's indoor excercise pool and so we went down to her house too. A fun time was had by all! The girls got out of the pool, got changed, and then went and sat by the fire. Guess that's what you get for swimming in the winter!

The longest weekend ever!

Well, I guess our sickness wasn't from food because we soon passed it on to Michael who then dealt with it for 2 more days. He's gone back to work today and we hope we are done with the worst of it. Kayleigh has been such a good helper through it all. We've watched tons of T.V. the past couple of days and she's just sat with us and played with her toys. Thanks to my mom who brought dinner last Friday-we've slowly eaten it as it's sounded good. Let's hope the next post isn't about being sick!

Pancakes

Kayleigh is pretty much eating whatever we eat now. I still do baby food every once in awhile. A couple of nights ago I made breakfast for dinner. She wanted the whole pankcake to eat herself, it was really funny! I kind of think this is what made us sick. Michael didn't eat dinner and he was fine yesterday, hmm...

New floor

(The new)
(The old)

This past week my dad (our landlord) ripped up the linoleum in our main bathroom to find rotted/ruined floor board underneath. He fixed it all and we now have a very nice floor. Thanks, Dad!

Sick

Yesterday was a horrible day! I woke up at 3 in the morning with diarrhea and throwing up! It continued all through the morning and to add to it, Kayleigh had it too! I knew there was no way I could handle all this on my own so I asked Michael to stay home and help. Thankfully he did and we all survived. There is nothing worse than watching your one year old throw up and nothing you can do about it! Kayleigh was very tough though. In between throwing up she was happy and wanted to play. We went through a ton of towels and blankets trying to keep the throw up off the floor. Laundry was sure fun last night... Kayleigh is feeling WAY better today, I would say back to normal. She is eating and sleeping fine. I still feel tired, but since I didn't eat at all yesterday that makes sense. Michael, you were the best dad/husband yesterday, thanks for taking care of your girls!

Video

I've never done a video on here so I thought I'd try putting one on. Kayleigh loves this pink bear that you'll see in the video.

Up to Logan

Today was an adventure! It all started at 5 a.m. this morning when I got up. At 5:30 Kayleigh joined me and off we went to Logan. My friend, Jill, just had surgery on her knee and can't be on it for 12 weeks. With 2 kids I think that would be really hard! So, I offered to come and help her. She has a daughter Kayleigh's age and a son I think about 15 or 16 months older than that. I was very surprised that Kayleigh hardly slept on the way up and did great all day. Actually, all the kids did great! I got there just after 7 in time for Jill's husband to go to school and then he got home at about 11:30. Thanks for letting us come up, Jill! Your kids were very well behaved and we wish you well in your recovery! Thank goodness the weather was nice! The canyon was very pretty with all the snow, wish I'd taked a camera.

Flicka

Watched it last night and thought it was very cute, a really good family video.

President's Day Weekend

We've sure had a busy weekend, but it's been fun. Friday night Michael and I went to a tri-stake adult Valentine's Day dance. The Davis High School Jazz Band came and provided the music. Michael is for sure the better dancer between the 2 of us, but he's pretty patient with me as he re-teaches me the steps every time we go dancing-about once a year. It was really fun to go out together and Michael even got to play the drums on one of the songs, he LOVED it! Thanks to my parents who watched Kayleigh for us.

On Saturday I worked in the morning at IHC and in the afternoon at Bowmans. I've taken over the monthly billing to our med-tray patients at Bowmans. The lady that used to do it just quit so on Saturday she trained me. It's kind of overwhelming, but hopefully it will be fine. After I got home from work, my cousin Jeni and her husband Matt came up from Provo to spend the night with us. We went to Cafe Rio for dinner and came home to watch a movie. We love hanging out with them and wish they lived closer.

Sunday brought church and then off to my parents to celebrate Chris and Grace's birthdays. Grace will be two on Saturday, I can't believe it! She was so cute, every time she opened a present she said "Treat?" She wanted them all to be treats!

Today Michael washed our cars and I went to work again. Not too eventful, but I am excited for tonight's Deal or No Deal.

Aftermath of Valentine's

I'm annoyed at how shiny my face is in pictures so I bought some make-up that has a matte finish, hopefully that will help. I heard on t.v. that helps to take away the shine.

By this time she was ready for bed!
Her cute heart pajamas.

Yesterday Michael was full of surprises. When I got home from work a little after 7 he had just pulled in himself with take out from Outback Steakhouse (thankfully we had a gift card there from Christmas that he used). Now any time I don't have to make dinner I am just thrilled, but to eat a yummy steak was even better! Then, when I walked into the kitchen he had a pretty purple rose in a vase for me and a red balloon for Kayleigh. Kayleigh LOVES balloons and it has followed her around since last night, she even slept with it tied to her crib.

After getting Kayleigh down for bed Michael gave me a card with clues about something else he had gotten me. After lots of hints from him I found 2 tickets to the upcoming Rascal Flatts concert in a Rascal Flatts c.d. that we have. I am soooo excited!!!! Thanks, hun!

I, also, had a present for Michael, but I feel bad because it's not that exciting. I just got him some more cologne. He seemed to like it though. We had a great Valentine's Day together and it was cute to have Kayleigh sit in her high chair right beside us as we ate our Valentine's dinner. She, of course, enjoyed the food with us. I thought it was very cute of Michael to get her a balloon, she really loves her daddy!

Happy Valentine's Everyone

Happy Valentine's Day! We hope you all have an enjoyable day today. Above is Kayleigh in her Valentine's outfit from last year and then this year. Wow, what a difference, she has grown so much! The last picture is the only Valentine's Day decoration we have, maybe next year we can get something else.

Michael-I love you! Thanks for all you do to support me and Kayleigh. Kayleigh loves you so much, you are a great dad and I always knew you would be. Thanks for everything.

What a wiggler

I really want Kayleigh to learn to crawl so I put her on her belly often. She scoots and wiggles, but no crawling yet. Yesterday as I was getting ready I put her on her belly and she ended up almost under our bed. It was so funny!

Snickerdoodles

I hardly ever make cookies, but yesterday I ventured out and did it! I used my mom's recipe for snickerdoodles and it turned out very good! As I was making them and rolling balls of dough in cinnamon and sugar Kayleigh was so excited and wanted to eat them. We kept telling her they weren't ready yet and she'd have to wait till they were cooked. Once they were done and we started eating one she HAD to try one herself. She loved it, as if that was a question, Kayleigh loves pretty much any type of food. Here are a couple pictures of her enjoying them. Notice the mess down the front of her sweatshirt.

New Tires

Last Saturday we took my car in for a regular oil change and also asked them to rotate the tires and check the brakes. After doing all of that they called us and told us 2 of my tires were very bald and they should be replaced. Michael and I were planning on buying 4 new ones this fall. The guy said he wouldn't even take my car on the freeway with these tires if it were him. So, we decided to replace the 2 bad ones. Since I often lose air in my 2 front tires they wear out quicker, making them needing a replacement. Long story short, we spent money on more car stuff which I hate doing! I do feel more safe in my car now and I bet it will drive better in the snow too! Since I finally broke down and got new tires it probably won't snow any more this winter, Murphy's Law right?

Snow

It's seriously snowing AGAIN today! We have had a lot of snow this year. I think it's great cause we really need it with the draught we've had an all. As I've already stated, I just hate driving in it. Today I need to drive to my mom's to take Kayleigh before I go to work so hopefully I'll be fine because it's not too far.

On Sunday Michael drove my car to church (it was snowing then too) and on the way home he turned out of the parking lot and the car didn't turn, he just slid right into a snow bank on the side of the road. Auugh! I was so glad there wasn't a car parked there or something. Next fall will bring new tires for my car.

Vote

Yesterday I went and voted in the primary presidential elections. I felt honored to participate in such an event and know that many have fought for that freedom that we enjoy. I am grateful for a nation that is determined by the people. How lucky we are to live in America!

Rascal Flats

Why is it that every time Rascal Flats comes to SLC to do a concert it's not in my budget to go? This is the one group I would LOVE to go and see. Oh well, maybe another time.

Kayleigh got these VERY CUTE shoes from Michael's friend, Aaron. Thanks, Aaron!

Winter Wonderland

My parents built a big hill of snow in their backyard for the grandkids to come and sled on. I thought it was neat they would do this because when I was young my brother would build a hill and we would play for hours on it sledding down. It brought back a lot of memories! Yesterday I took Kayleigh over there and my sister came too with her daughter and we went sledding. Kayleigh was really tired when we went so I don't think she enjoyed it as much as she would have. Also it was pretty cold with the wind blowing. Once I took Kayleigh inside she was happier. I think we'll try it again another time when she's not so tired. Since I went over just a few hours before I go to work I was just in levi's and should have worn different pants and shoes, oh well, now I know for next time. Grace loved it though and she even took Kayleigh down with her. It ws fine until they tipped over and Kayleigh got a face full of snow! I felt really bad, but it was really funny! I picked Kayleigh up out of the snow and she was just crying with snow all over her. They weren't going fast though and I know she didn't hurt herself so that's why I can laugh.
