Happy Thanksgiving Weekend

We have enjoyed a great holiday weekend together with our family. We have so much to be thankful for. Our Heavenly Father has blessed us with so much. Our home is nice, we always have food to eat, cars to drive, clothes to wear, a family who we love and loves us, friends, the gospel, our health, and a little baby on the way.

As Christmas is now upon us, we are excited for time off work (Michael), more time with friends and family and all the decorations and holiday cheer. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

31 weeks and counting

Okay, so technically I'm not 31 weeks til Friday, but oh well. Here's what I look like. I feel huge. It's already hard to put socks and shoes on and I hate bending down to pick stuff up. And I don't know what it is about being pregnant, but I drop things a ton more than I used to.

Landon is moving a ton! He is so much more active than Kayleigh was. It's pretty fun because feeling them move is the best part about being pregnant I think. This pregnancy has gone fast and I can't believe that he will be here soon.

Landon's room

The crib
The beginning of our long project.

Kayleigh really wanted to help us paint.
She did great until she touched the wet paint on the door. New blinds and my blue tape marking touch up spots.
New light fixture.
Landon's closet/clothes
Book shelf/toys
Changing table
Note: I hate blogger when it comes to loading pictures, so, these are NOT in the order I planned.

Our project has finally ended! I felt like it took forever. Mostly because I am an anal freak when it comes to mess, painting was hard for me and that's why I felt like it took too long. I am so glad it's done though, and so glad we decided to do it. The paint is so much better now, color and texture. I am happy with how everything turned out.

Painting was a new experience for us. I have to say a huge thank you to my husband who spent hours and hours and many late nights working on it. We've learned a lot and hopefully our next project will go faster. Painting/taping with textured walls is very hard. Now, I have to pat myself on the back for the baseboards, cause I painted those all by myself! Because pictures aren't the greatest, I'll just tell you, the ceiling is now white, white door and trim, red wall (Crimson), and the other walls a tan color called Baked Scone.

Now I just have to decide what to hang on the walls for decoration. Such a dilemma! :-) As we set up the crib and room it really hit home that we are going to be having another baby. I feel so grateful to be ready this time. Kayleigh was born quite early and we weren't prepared at all. Thank goodness I have great family that came to our rescue, but this time I wanted to be ready in plenty of time. So, with 9 1/2 weeks to go (I'm thinking probably less) I just need to wash everything and we will be ready.

Poor Davis

Grandma and Grandpa Lyman, Suzy and Grandpa Royal
Last week we went to the high school football championship at the U of U. It was really fun to go to and fun to watch, well, except for the fourth quarter. Davis was ahead the whole game until the 4th quarter. Too bad they couldn't pull out a win over Bingham. Michael's cousin, Kyler, was on the team and it's his senior year this year so it would have been so cool if they'd won, oh well.

We enjoyed our popcorn, nachos and cotton candy though, and thankfully it wasn't too cold. One really funny thing I have to mention is something Kayleigh said. All of use were yelling "Go defense!" at one point in the game and so Kayleigh joined in. Then, after yelling "Go defense!" she yelled "Can ya hear me?!" We were all laughing so hard! Silly girl! Go Davis Darts!

Turkey Making

When I was little I remember making turkeys out of apples around Thanksgiving. I thought it would be a fun thing for Kayleigh to do. We actually did it at my mom's house with my sister and her two girls but I forgot my camera when we did it. So, these pictures are of the next day at our house, but none the less, Kayleigh had a great time making it. She kept calling them cookies instead of turkeys, I'm not sure she quite got it. The candy part she understood though. As soon as I put the candy out in bowls to use all three girls just started snarfing down, no joke! My niece, Phoebe, was the funniest! She kept saying "num nums" and had both hands full of treats. We all got a good laugh out of that. Happy Turkey Day!

Playing in the snow

Well, Kayleigh played in what was left of the snow anyway. As she was riding her bike the other day she noticed some snow in another yard and all of the sudden became interested in it. So I told her we could go back to our house and find some to play in. She got excited and wanted her bucket and shovel.

It was fun to watch her play for a few minutes (we went in pretty quickly as it was cold) and enjoy it so much. I remember playing in the snow when I was little, even when it was dark and cold outside and my mom would have to call me in. As much as I hate driving in snow, it is fun to have around to play in and watch as it falls.

Our Halloween

You'll notice she is sporting her dad's shoes here with a broom between her legs.

Saturday was a busy day for us. We are grateful that so many of our family members live close though, and that we get to share in the holiday fun with them. Kayleigh was a witch this year, and a very cute one I might add. She wore a witch costume that my mom made for my sister and me when we were little. I found the hat to go with it at Target for a dollar, love the dollar section. My mom then helped me sew the ribbon on to it so it wouldn't fly off her head every time she ran.

In the afternoon we headed over to my parents house where we got to decorate sugar cookies, have minestrone soup for dinner and then go trick-or-treating. Kayleigh had a ton of fun! With all that sugar around, who wouldn't have fun?! As we went trick-or-treating, Kayleigh started to get the hang of it quickly and soon was running from one house to another. And after we'd finish at one house she'd ask if we could go to five more. Right now her thing is always five something, like 5 more minutes, 5 more bites, 5 more treats, etc. Needless to say, we went to plenty of "five more houses."

After my parents we ran up to Michael's parents so they could see their little Kayleigh as a witch. She had fun playing there too, with their Little People house and finally around 10:30 I think we made it home.
