BYU game

This fall time of year is one of Michael’s favorites.  Not because of the weather but because of football season!  He is a huge Cougar fan and he’s trying to teach our kids to be as well.  Since BreeAnn’s (my cousin) husband is also a big BYU fan, it’s fun for them to get together and watch the games.  The last Friday in September happened to be a weekend of a game and also when they have Kaili, Tyler’s daughter from a previous marriage.  Our two girls love to play together which makes the games fun for them, too.
BreeAnn came to our house in the afternoon and Tyler joined us after he got off work.  We enjoyed a dinner at CafĂ© Rio and then the game at our house after.  BreeAnn had brought a little Halloween pumpkin craft for the kids to do.  It was so nice of her to do that and the kids loved it!  Overall, a fun night with family.  Go Cougars!

Some September pictures

Landon enjoying corn from our garden
Wyatt playing with toys in the family room, he can entertain himself for quite awhile doing this
Kayleigh playing with some of Daddy's old Lego's
Landon licking the bowl clean after I made zucchini bread (I think that's what it was)
Cute Wy Wy all tuckered out
Landon LOVES to watch shows on my phone from the Disney Junior App.  Wyatt joined in on the fun here.
Cute boys all ready for bed

Johnny Applesead Day

Kayleigh came home from school very proud of the hat she'd made for Johnny Applesead Day.  I am so glad that she's enjoying school for the most part, I can't believe she's growing right up so fast.

Our power was out today

With our lovely snow today, we were out of power for about 4 hours. Landon was super sad when Jake and the Neverland Pirates was turned off mid episode. I had to explain a little about power to him.
Awhile later he wanted the light on in the bathroom while he went potty. I told him again that the power was out. He said, in pure innocence, "Now there's 2 powers out?" It was so cute!

Wyatt is 7 months

I'm a little late in getting this up, but my baby is 7 months old.  He is growing like crazy and fitting in mostly 12 month clothes now.  He's sitting up awesome now but nowhere near crawling and I'm fine with that.  He still doesn't have any teeth either, also something I'm fine with.  I'm officially done nursing and all my storage of milk from the freezer is gone.  He is a champ though and drinks Costco brand formula just great.  I sure love you little buddy!

Potty training struggles

Landon is really struggling with going #2 in the potty. He's been holding it forever, hasn't gone since Sunday. I'm kind of getting worried that that's not good for him. Not sure what to do...but he just told Michael in a totally serious voice, "Daddy, my bum is broken." Michael asked if we should take him to the doctor to which he replied, "No, I don't need to go to the doctor, just my bum needs to go to the doctor." Ha ha ha!

This morning

Landon told Michael, "You stinky, go get in the shower." Hilarious!

Ugh

Today is one of those days that I am glad is over. Kay woke up early this morning, 4:00 am early, throwing up. This was following yesterday when at about 5:00 pm Landon started throwing up.
Everyone is asleep now and I hope we can sleep through the night. I also hope that Wyatt doesn't get it. Here's hoping for a healthier day tomorrow.

First day of Kindergarten

I cannot believe the time has come for our little Kayleigh (not really so little any more) to go to Kindergarten!  After two years of pre-school she is plenty ready, but holy cow, wow!  I got to go with her on the first day which was really nice.  Kay does so much better when she can ease into something new and have myself or Michael help her do it the first time.
We just went for about an hour and had a little overview of how things will work for the year.  Her teacher's name is Mrs. Perry and she has morning Kindergarten.  At this point (a month and a half in to school) I kind of feel like her teacher is pretty scattered and it's hard for her to be organized.  In her defense, she teaches afternoon kindergarten at another school, but still.
Kayleigh doesn't seem to notice that though and for the most part enjoys going each day.  She doesn't like to get up each morning because we are such night people and have a hard time getting to bed on time but we are learning.  She loves music time and PE at school.  She also loves making new friends at recess.  As we drive home from school each day she unrolls the window and says goodbye to all her friends that walk home, it's cute.
Just this past week she has finally learned to write her name not in all caps.  She is doing great and before you know it the year will be half over.

Labor Day Weekend

Cool double rainbow on Saturday
All ready for bed on Saturday night
Wyatt fell asleep waiting for the rest of the family to get ready for church
Swimmin in the backyard on Labor Day
 Wyatt chillin watchin the swimmers

The kids wrapped up in burritos after swimming.

We had a nice, relaxing vacation weekend.  It's always nice to have Michael home an extra day to be with us.  Saturday we enjoyed a cool thunderstorm and a double rainbow, Kayleigh thought it was so cool!  I love when fall comes and the weather cools off.  The storms that weekend were so nice and got me excited for cooler weather.
Then Monday we offered to take the kids to a movie at Kaysville Theater or swim in the backyard.  They chose swimming.  I was kind of surprised but hey, whatever makes them happy, right?

Cherry Hill

Okay, that's quite the picture overload but they are all so fun I just posted them all.  I am realizing now that I did a horrible job of capturing Michael in a photo that day.  :-(  Michael was there with us the whole day though.  Wyatt hung out with us until about 3:00 in the afternoon when my dad came and picked him up.  Thanks, Mom and Dad, for watching him the rest of the day.
As we sun screened everyone up upon our arrival Kayleigh could hardly stand it she was so excited to start playing!  Landon was nervous at first but by the end of the day he was going down the kiddy slide by himself and jumping into my arms from the side of the pool.
Both Kayleigh and Landon loved the lazy river.  Wyatt, however, cried any time water touched him, poor baby!  In the afternoon Kayleigh decided it’d be fun to go down Cardiac Canyon.  I was proud of her because she was nervous to do it since there are a couple waterfalls you have to go under but she did it.  I think she went about 5 times after the initial run.
The blue tube waterslides are my favorite thing to do there.  Since part of the slides are covered and dark the kids don’t love them.  What’s nice is that you can take them down on your lap but convincing them to go down is still hard.  For one of our runs, Kayleigh and Landon waited at the bottom while Michael and I rode down.  I’m sure as they grow older that will change.
We stayed right up until the last minute of closing, the kids really loved it!  I did run Kayleigh to her dance class in the afternoon so she wouldn't miss out.  It was a nice “goodbye” to summer.  Kayleigh started school just a week later.

The Tree House Museum and a train ride

Our family enjoyed the Pruess summer activity a lot this year!  We got to camp out in Nana and Grandpa’s backyard.  Kayleigh and Landon got to sleep with the cousins and Grandpa in the tent trailer.  Kayleigh loved the tent trailer and a thought it was so cool.  She wants us to buy one now but I think our tent will have to do for awhile.
The next morning we caught Front Runner at the Layton Station and headed up to Ogden.  It was about a 20 minute ride.  Landon really had a great time on the train, he loves trains and this was right up his ally.  Then we walked for about 15 minutes up to the museum.
Even though it was a Saturday the museum wasn’t busy at all, it was so nice!  They don’t allow strollers in their museum.  This was a little tricky with Wyatt but we managed.  The museum was neat.  They had a lot of little themed sections for the kids to explore.  The lower level had lots of different countries depicted.  There were outfits to dress up in if you wanted and a couple activities to do.  The kids liked the tee pee and the Mongolian home.  Also on the main floor was a little place with about 4 different train sets and Landon could have stayed there all day, literally.  He loved it!
On the upper floor there was a castle with a giant chess set.  Michael and Grandpa spent some time there.  Also up there was a little hospital.  Kayleigh was in love with the nursery and the babies in it.  She kept calling it the NICU which I got a kick out of.  She kept begging to go back to the NICU.
In the middle of the museum is a huge tree.  You climb up the stairs in the trunk of the tree or climb up the outside of it.  There are some fun bird costumes you can wear as you play around the tree.  Landon dressed as a bird and it was so cute but I didn’t get a picture.
Another part that was Kayleigh’s favorite was the play.  There is a little theater and an employee that tells a story and helps some volunteers from the audience act it out.  Kayleigh, Grace and Phoebe got to be the three sisters in the play.  They were so well behaved!   As their parents in the audience we were so proud of them as they listened and did what they were told.
In the play there was an “older sister” out of the 3 sisters.  Because Kayleigh is the tallest of the 3 the employee just assumed Kayleigh was the oldest.  It was funny!  We were laughing as we watched her be picked as the oldest.  After Kayleigh thought it was cool too that she got to be the oldest sister.
Once the play was over Kayleigh wanted to do another one.  She’s even put on a play here at home with Landon since doing it at the museum.  Maybe one day she’ll be a little actress!
We ate lunch at the Pizza Factory close by the museum.  After lunch we went back to the museum and let the kids play some more.  The activity was a huge hit at our house.  Kayleigh and Landon ask all the time if we can go back.  The ride home on the train was fun too and it was nice to get back home after a weekend of being away.  We love our cousins and family and it was great to be with them.
