Fall Photo Shoot 2009

Love this one!

Very cute!

Okay everyone, the pictures have arrived! I must say, I think her hair turned out so cute! I love the fall weather and how beautiful it was that day. Thanks so much to Sherri for taking them. You can check out her blog at http://www.sherrijamiesonphotography.blogspot.com/ or her website at http://www.swjphotography.com/ She also put a lot of them in black and white or sepia but I've mostly just posted the color ones. My little girl is growing up! I am grateful that I can at least document with pictures. Now I just have to decide which ones to print!

Getting ready for pictures

Every fall since Kayleigh has been born I've gotten her pictures taken. So, being October already I knew I had to get on it. This past Monday we had them done. A really nice lady in my ward did them for us. She, Sherri, was so nice and did great with Kayleigh. I really wanted to do her hair curly but was nervous to do it. She isn't used to me using a curling iron on her or spending over 30 minutes on her hair. But, I wanted her to look so cute so I decided to try. After getting her settled watching a show I was able to do her hair and it worked great! What's crazy is that a few hours later almost all the curl had fallen out! Kayleigh's hair is just so fine that it doesn't hold curl. Oh well, it was curly for the hour it took to take the pictures. Now I don't have the pictures yet to show you, but I do have some that I took before we left. Enjoy!

Pre-Halloween

Last week we got together at Michael's parents house to celebrate his mom's birthday. She wanted to have the kids all dressed up in their Halloween attire. We also enjoyed dinner and some crazy dancing! It was fun to see our family that lives in St. George, Kayleigh really loves Tyler! Happy birthday to Suzy!

Happy Autumn

Kayleigh is getting excited to do this

As I've probably already mentioned a time or two, fall is my favorite season. I just love that it isn't hot or cold yet. The beauty of the leaves are also wonderful, along with the holidays that are in the fall.

And his name will be...

Landon Michael

I'm glad we've decided and that he has a name. We've called him baby boy for long enough and I'm glad he's official now. When Kayleigh says it it sounds more like Wandon, but it's so cute! Can't wait to meet him in a few months!

Off to the pumpkin patch

Yesterday I took Kayleigh to Pack's Pumpkin Patch for some fall fun. My mom, sister and two nieces came with us. The girls had a great time running through the hay bale maze and picking out some pumpkins to bring home. This was the same place I came last year with some people from my ward and I was a little disappointed this year because they didn't have the same setup as last. There weren't any scarecrows to take your picture by or hats to put on for pictures. There also wasn't any picture cutouts to put your face in and take pictures. Oh well, the girls didn't seem to mind and just kept running through the maze.

I love having pumpkins on my front porch each fall. I really love this time of year and the weather has been great in our neck of the woods. I hope it stays like this for awhile, in the 60's.

Oh, and on a side note, we did not plan for our kids to be dressed the same, it was kind of funny!

Out with the old...

New
Old

and in with the new! We got a new fridge. We are really enjoying our new appliance, especially the water and ice feature. I love the black color as well, it looks great in our kitchen. The only thing I am sad about is that the mirror finish on the front is scratchable and we've had to move Kayleigh's letter magnets to the dishwasher so they won't scratch up the front. Why don't they tell you things like that when you buy it?? They probably don't even know, but anyway, other than that, we are happy with it.

Curly Kayleigh

I've always wanted to try to curl Kayleigh's hair in ringlets, but never have been brave enough. She doesn't hold still that well and isn't used to her hair taking very long. However, this past Sunday while watching Conference I thought I'd try it out. She actually did pretty well, hold still and all. I needed to use more hairspray I think for her fine hair, but overall, I thought it looked really cute! Unfortunately, the pictures just don't show it very well.

Hiding

Kayleigh loves to play hide and seek with Michael and has lately found it fun to hide in with her stuffed animals. She looks so funny and cute when she does it!

Tutu

For an Enrichment activity in our ward we made tutus and capes. I just did a tutu since my unborn boy is still a little far away from needing a cape to play with. :-) I love the way it turned out and I'm glad Kayleigh has a little dress up to use at our house now. (Whenever she is at my mom's house or her friend here in our ward she loves to play dress-up but couldn't do it at our house.)

The morning after I made it Kayleigh walked into the family room before me and saw it. She carried it back to me and said "What's this?" I said "What do you think it is?" She said, excitedly, "A costume?!" It was fun to see how much she liked it! The best part about it was is cost 8 bucks to make and was so easy!

Davis Homecoming

Cousin Tyler, Grandma Suzy and Kayleigh

I've been so busy posting about Alaska...but we really have been doing things since we got home. A few weekends ago we went to the Davis High Homecoming football game. It was pretty crowded, but thankfully we had family there saving us some seats. Michael's cousin, Kyler, is on the team so it's fun to go and see him play. Michael's sister was also in town so we got to see them as well. Kayleigh loves seeing her cousins, Tyler and Brooke.
Kayleigh did really well for the game. She clapped every time the crowd did, she sang the school song (tried to), and enjoyed watching the band at half time. During the whole game she kept asking where Bubba (Kyler) was. We tried to explain to her he was the one with #12 on his back and I think she spotted him a few times, but it was hard for her to see him. She liked seeing him after the game was over though. It was a fun weekend outing with the family and thankfully Davis pulled off a win!
