The only reason I posted this is to show the awesome wind we had that day!

Michael's sister and her family live in Santa Clara. They are always welcoming visitors so we thought we'd head down for a few days. We left on Saturday after I finished work and got there around 7. We enjoyed Cafe Rio that night, yummy! It was a great welcoming gift! Kayleigh was in heaven to be with her cousins. She was especially excited to see Tyler, his trumpet and his guitar. (What a silly girl!) Poor little Brooke fractured her leg the day we got there (just hours before) on their new trampoline. So, it was really sad to watch her hobble around and try to by in on all the action. She did get to enjoy being held and jumping on the tramp with the kdis though.

On Sunday we went to church in the morning, had a great dinner after, and then we headed to see the St. George Tabernacle and Temple. I think Kayleigh mostly had fun playing in the water fountains by the tabernacle, but it was nice to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather down there.

Monday we decided to go into Snow Canyon and play in the sand dunes. It was another great day weather wise and I even got some sun on my arms, yahoo! I thoroughly enjoyed watching Kayleigh play at the sand dunes! It took me back to all the years I went when I was a kid. Snow Canyon is very pretty and the drive through the canyon was amazing! The drive back to Staci's was a little rough because Landon was hungry and Kayleigh woke up from her little nap still tired, but we survived!

On Tuesday we drove to see the Jacob Hamblin home, enjoyed some lunch at The Pasta Factory, and then took Kayleigh to a park to play. Lunch really was nice because Kayleigh actually sat and ate her food all by herself! We ate out on a little patio where we could feel the nice breeze. Landon slept through it and so Michael and I really enjoyed being there with our little family.

That afternoon we headed to Tyler's baseball game. It was fun to watch him, but oh my heck was it windy!! Tuesday after the game, after kids were in bed, we watched The Blindside. I really liked it!

On Wednesday we drove home and it took like 6 hours to get home. Really! We stopped to feed Landon and have lunch at Subway in Fillmore. He pooped out of his clothes while eating and guess what? Their bathroom doesn't have a changing table, so, I got to take care of a blowout on the Subway chair, so fun! (Not!!) Anyway, we enjoyed our little getaway and doing the drive in our new car. Thanks, Staci, Bill, Tyler and Brooke for letting us stay with you guys.

All the grandkids

Kayleigh, Grandpa, Miriam, Landon, Nana, Phoebe, Grace and Anna.

Grandpa with his only grandson (not for long)

Because my brother lives in Alaska, we aren't often all together. So, we tried to get a good picture of all the grandkids with Nana and Grandpa. Nana also wanted a picture of all the girls in their skirts/jumpers she made them. She did a great job!

Okay, we are finally to the actual day of Easter 2010! When Kayleigh got up she wanted to see what the Easter Bunny had left her. She loved looking around the house and she found things pretty quickly!

In the afternoon we headed to my parent's house for my absolute FAVORITE dinner, Sukiyaki-it's Japanese. My dad served his mission in Japan and sure learned how to cook some yummy things! My grandma and great aunt joined us for dinner as well.

It was nice having Easter and General Conference on the same day I thought. I also enjoyed being able to spend it with family.
Throughout the month we have talked with Kayleigh about why we actually celebrate Easter. We talked about why and how Christ died for us, and then of course the wonderful miracle of the resurrection. It was interesting to see how sad Kayleigh got when we explained that Jesus died. "I don't want Jesus to die" said Kayleigh, in a sad voice. Despite how many times we try to explain that He lives again, it still makes her sad to know that Jesus died. It's fun to watch her learn and grow in the Gospel.

Easter egg hunt

Her face just says it all, right?

Sorting through it all to make sure we found everything.

Nathan, my brother, really liked having all the grandkids around so much in April.

Me and my mom, do we look tired? We are!

Kayleigh has been talking about this Easter egg hunt for months! After Christmas she wanted to know what holiday was next and as we talked about it, Easter made her very excited! I am amazed that she remembered from last year the egg hunt at Nana and Grandpa's house. She knew we did it outside at night and needed flashlights, too. It made me happy that she is already remembering traditions like this.

Her excitement grew as the week and finally the day approached to do the hunt. Of course, the weather wasn't that good that day and I was just hoping it wouldn't pour on us and make the Easter Bunny hide everything inside. I knew Kayleigh would be so sad if that happened. Luckily, the Easter Bunny had been watching the weather and hid the eggs in time so we headed out quickly before the moisture came. It was pretty cold and it did start to snow a little, but we survived and the kids didn't want to go in when everything had been found.

The Easter Bunny (aka Nana and Grandpa) totally spoiled the kids. They got kites, books, hair bows, chalk, stuffed animals and of course, lots of candy! Thanks, Nana and Grandpa!

In the new Deseret Book, we really tried to get these kids to let us take their picture in front of the organ pipes, they were pretty much done for the day.

The Friday before Easter my family headed into SLC for a fun day together. We started out at the Church History Museum. Right now they have an I am a Child of God exhibit going on that's great for kids. They got to help dress/feed babies in the hospital and fill out their birth certificates. There were giant wall puzzles to do, a bean bag toss, coloring, blocks to build a temple with, dress ups for the nativity, and even a piece of President Hinckley's tree to feel and look at.

Kayleigh really liked the babies and dressing up as Mary in the nativity. She also liked to color. We ended up staying for quite awhile because the kids loved it!

After the museum we rode TRAX down to the Gateway where we got some lunch and then rode Trax back up to the new Deseret Book. We looked around/shopped there for about an hour before heading home.

This was one of Landon's first outings and he did great! It was even pretty cold that day and he hardly made any noise. He and Kayleigh both slept on the way home.
