Fun day

I got to shop this afternoon for some new shoes with my birthday money.  I found 2 new pairs that will be perfect for this fall, can't wait to wear them!  I love shoes and have way too many for my own good, but hey, it makes me happy.
I also got to go to the General Relief Society Meeting Broadcast with my mom and sis.  We went to my mom's stake center and it was fun to go with them.  As always, the broadcast was great!  The General Relief Society Presidency is fairly new and it was fun to see and hear from them.  President Eyring also talked and he did a great jog, too.  I felt like they all talked about trials and helping each other through them and the atonement and the role it plays in our lives.  I also felt like they all talked about our pioneer ancestors and related things from their day to ours.
It's amazing what we can learn from others and how great the Relief Society is.  I am thankful for these times when we are reminded of what is really important in life.  I sure am in need of a good reminder now and then!

Fall is finally here!

I LOVE this cooler weather we've been having. Cute little Wy Wy finally gets to wear his little sweater he got from Michael's boss when he was born.

Wyatt is 6 months

Aren't these pictures just so cute?  I love his big smile!  Took him to the doc on Aug, 29th and his stats are: 27 inches - 71%tile 18 pounds - 61%tile.  He got 3 shots and only cried for a little bit.  Kayleigh felt so bad for him that he had to get shots.
Kayleigh and Landon ended up getting their flu mist nose sprays that day.  It was nice to get it all done in one visit. We also saw my cousin, Jeni, and her kids there.  I didn't know this but she takes her kids to a doctor in that same clinic.  It was such a fun surprise to walk in and see her standing there.
Our Wyatt is growing up!  I'm sure I've stated this already but he has been our hardest baby in that he has been very fussy and super spitty.  I know spitty isn't probably even a word, but it describes him perfectly.  We've started him on solids now and the doctor said that should help with the spit up problem.  I think on an average day he spits up around 10 times.   Some days are worse, some days are better.  I spend so much time cleaning up spit up and changing his clothes, it's so hard some days!  That being said, I am so grateful for his cute smile, I love when he's happy!
Just recently he's learned to sit up and this has helped a lot with him being more happy.  He likes to be right where his siblings are and watch them and play/try to eat toys.  He's much more entertained now and it's so helpful.  We love you, Wy-Fi!!

The kid's first pet

Yep, that's a goldfish!  How might you ask did this end up at our house?  Well, it's kind of a long story.  My parents often have weddings and wedding receptions in their yard during the summer months.  For a particular reception in August there were goldfish as part of the center pieces on the tables.  We just happened to be at my parent's house when they were cleaning up after and we were offered a goldfish.
Kayleigh and Landon were SO EXCITED!!  I wasn't really, but I just thought of when I was young and we begged our mom for some goldfish once, kind of same scenario, anyway, I decided it'd be ok to take it home with us.  We borrowed this fish bowl from my mom, ran to the store to get some fish food and we were set.
Kayleigh loved feeding it and watching it and giving it a million different names the first day we got it.  In the end she just called it fishy or fish.  Now, here's the sad part of the story.  It only lived for 12 days and when we got home from Cherry Hill it was dead.  Kayleigh was devastated!  I don't think that Landon really got what was going on.  Poor Kay cried and cried over it.
Now she's begging me every time we go to Walmart to get another one.  I think fish are great if you had a big tank to put them in.  The annoying part of just having one in a bowl is that the water gets dirty super fast and you have to change it all the time.  You can tell in the picture above that the water was cloudy.  Too bad this is the only picture of the fish that I got.

Family Home Evening Treat

Tonight we had ice cream for our treat as part of our Family Home Evening.  We happened to have Rocky Road and I just have to write down what happened.  I dished up Kay and Landon and while they were eating it Kay asked what it was called and what was in it.  I told her it was Rocky Road which had chocolate ice cream with marshmallow and nuts in it.  She then said (I can't remember her exact words, but it went something like this), "Wouldn't it be funny if they chopped up a road and put pieces of a road in it with some rocks?"
I could have died!  It was so funny!  Landon laughed too and then we discussed how that would not taste good at all! These kids sure crack me up sometimes.

Our little dancer

What??  I can't believe I just dropped Kayleigh off at her first dance class.  Not to mention that it's at the same place where I took ballet for 6 years.  Clytie Adams School of Ballet is a great place and I am so excited that Kayleigh gets to take pre-ballet from them.
Kayleigh was really nervous to go for the first time.  She would have liked me to stay for the whole time but I just had to drop her off and go.  When I came to pick her up she ran to the car and said, "I loved it Mom!"  It made me so happy and relieved to know that she had had a great time!  She wanted to go back the next day.  Waiting a whole week was hard for her but she made it.  She talked about her class a lot that first day and she couldn't wait to tell her cousin, Grace, about it.
Her class is 45 minutes long and her teacher's name is Liz.  Here we are a few weeks into it and she's still enjoying it every week.  I know it's so far off, but I already can't wait until next June when their recital will be.  I am so glad that I have a daughter and that she's able to do these "girlie" things that I did when I was young.  I think this class will help her with her coordination and her social skills.

Way to ruin an afternoon

Here's my bumper on the Sorento, crunch!

On the 11th of August I was headed home from Costco and I got rear ended.  Yuck!  No one was hurt and not too much damage which is nice but still, such a pain to deal with.  I was stopped at a light when it happened.
I was just going to get her insurance info and be on my way, but she couldn't find her card.  It made me a little nervous because you just never know about people these days so I called the police.  I felt bad doing that but hey, it's just part of the deal when you get rear ended.
I was glad the kids weren't in the car with me (since I had been at work before going to Costco) and I was glad I wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere.  So that was a blessing.  My car is scheduled to be fixed on September 17th, hopefully that goes smooth and they don't have to keep it forever!

Chick-fil-A Day

(Pictures from Michael's phone, sorry for the fuzz.)

Call us crazy but we were some of the people that braved the crowds a few weeks ago in support of Chick-fil-A.  We waited over an hour in line to get our dinner.  We figured we'd have to wait awhile but not that long!  The kids enjoyed playing in the kid area for part of the time so that was nice.
It took so long that I had to leave in order to get to my Young Women's activity.  (I thought this might happen so we drove 2 cars.)  Michael stayed in line with the kids and finally got to eat my dinner at about 8:30 when mutual was over.
Although the lines were long we thought it was a fun thing to be a part of and support a business that stood up for what they think is right.  Good for them for standing behind what they said.  I am sure they made a lot money on that Wednesday that was deemed Chick-fil-A day, good for them, they deserve it.

Late night run

Back in July cute little Wyatt had some one on one time with Daddy.  Michael took him out on a late night run.  Minus the fuzziness in this picture, I thought he looked so cute all buckled in and ready to run!

Come to Lagoon

As our summer was coming to a close we made sure we got to Lagoon.  Every time we drive by it the kids are dying to go and we always tell them we'll go.  So, we kept our promise and went early in August.  Thanks to Deseret Book and their discount tickets for helping us get in and for my mom who got us the Deseret Book tickets!  (Holy cow Lagoon is a lot of money!)
This was Landon's first experience at Lagoon and I think we were all really excited to see how he'd like it.  Because our kids are so tall for their ages they are able to go on things at a younger age than most kids.  I think we kind of made Landon do some things that he probably wouldn't have wanted to do but since there wasn't anyone to watch him while we rode we just made him come with us.  He was scared on Bom Bora, Tilt a Whirl, Dinosaur Drop, the Tidal Wave and even Puff the first time he went on it.  His most favorite rides were the little driving cars, the boats (which he had to ride by himself because Kay is now too tall to ride them) and Bulgy the Whale.  I think he rode Bulgy the Whale and the cars about 10 times each.
We went on a Tuesday and it was the perfect day, not busy at all.  Kayleigh is officially tall enough to ride every ride at Lagoon.  Some she has to have an adult with her but still, way to go for a 5 year old!  She rode The Rocket for the first time and loved it!  She did the blastoff side because re-entry was closed.  I was so scared to ride The Rocket for the first time, I still am scared.  Miss Kay Bug is so brave!  She really loved the Flying Aces and rode that about 3 times by herself because Landon did not like it and after one ride of it both Michael and I were feeling sick.
I tell you what, any ride that goes round and round I just can't do any more.  Makes me so sick!  The new ride they have this year looked fun and I wanted to try it.  Kayleigh and I rode it and I was semi panicking on it hoping it would end soon so I wouldn't lose it.  Michael also tried it once with her and it's now a ride she has to do herself as well because we just get too sick.
Thanks to my mom who watched Wyatt  and to my visiting teacher who helped with him too, it was nice to not have him out in the heat just sitting in his stroller all day.  The next week Michael decided to take advantage of the Bounce Back tickets that Lagoon does and he took Kayleigh for an evening.  On this trip she road Jet Star for the first time and LOVED it!  They went on it several times and I think she might even say it's her favorite ride here.  Each night as we left the park we had to of course get cotton candy.  I'm embarrassed to say how much we've spent on cotton candy!!  It's sure delicious though.
Until next year, goodbye Lagoon.  Thanks for providing us with a couple days of family fun.  We missed being able to go with our cousins this year.  Hopefully next year we can go with someone.
