1st haircut

  I've been wanting to cut Wyatt's hair for awhile now and today I finally said we are doing it!  Michael was gone at bishopric so we thought we'd do it and it'd be a surprise.  Plus the kids needed baths anyway so it worked out.  

  He did amazingly well when I cut it! I thought he would cry for sure but he just whimpered a little.  Kay was a great help as she gave him fruit snacks while I did it.  

  I was expecting him to hate the whole experience since Landon did and still doesn't like it much.  He surprised me though and I guess he's tougher than his big brother.  

  His hair is pretty thin. It was long though so it made it look like he had a lot of hair. I hope this will help to thicken it up a little.  He's such a stud though, so cute!

15 month check-up

  Mr. Wy had a check-up yesterday.  He's continuing to grow and things look great.  He is 31 1/2 inches (64th%tile) and 28.2 lbs. (89th%tile).  I feel like he's grown a lot in the last little bit.  Since his 12 mo. visit to the doctor he's put on about 4 lbs. and grown an inch and a half.  I guess we're feeding him right!

   I love his cute smile and that he's a pretty easy going toddler.  He just wanders the house and finds things to play with.  Landon often says that Wyatt is his best friend, it's adorable. I can't wait til they start to play more together.

It's summer today!

It's in the 80's today and Kayleigh was dying to play in the water outside.  I got the flower sprinkler out and let them play.  They laughed and had fun for a little bit til Kay realized when the wind blows it gets cold when you are wet.  Oh well, now she knows.

Landon asked to hold Wyatt this morning when I brought him out of bed. What a sweet older brother!

Happy Mother's Day to me!

  So grateful that I get to be a mother here on this earth.  Feel so blessed to be entrusted with 3 special spirits here in our home.  I love Kayleigh, Landon and Wyatt.  They're each so different in personality and looks.  Being a mother is HARD, there's no sugar coating that.  Glad I can wake up each day and try again.

  Thanks to Michael who helps me along the way and is a great daddy.  He does a lot to help around the house and help with the kids, I'm a lucky gal.  

  And I won't lie, I've been enjoying my gift today.  I love new clothes!

Kindergarten program notes

This Friday is Kayleigh's kindergarten program. I can't wrap my head around the idea that the school year is almost over and my cute girl will be in first grade next year.
A couple days ago she was talking to me about her big show and she said one of the songs they'll be singing is going to make me cry.
Me: Oh really?
K: Yeah, so don't wear any eye shadow, cause your eyes will get all black and then you won't be able to see.
Me: Laughing I said "ok".
K: I'm just warning ya.

She is so hilarious sometimes.

A year gone by already

Today for our YW activity we decorated notebooks to make journals for girls camp. Camp is next month and it's coming up so fast. Funny thing is, I swear we just made camp journals for last year's camp. This past year has literally flown by!

Scooter catastrophe

Yesterday Kayleigh fell off of her scooter. It happened a few houses up from our circle so I didn't see it but she claims she hit a bump (I think the sidewalk raises up a couple inches) and fell on her left side. She is pretty beat up! She has bruises on her chin, shoulder, knee and ankle. Poor girl!
She did not want to go to school or dance today. She gets so embarrassed and didn't want people asking about her face. I told her it's ok and that people are just asking to make sure she's ok. Then she told me "Well of course I'm fine. If I wasn't I wouldn't be at school." She's a smart girl.
Today she was right back out on her scooter so I guess she isn't too scared of it happening again. Tough girl! Love her and hope she heals up soon.

Pedicure and Manicure

So me and Kay had a pretty fun day today! Kayleigh's cousin, Grace, wanted to celebrate her birthday by getting her nails done. So this afternoon we headed down to Paul Mitchell the school and all the little girls got a pedicure and manicure.
Grace's aunt is in school there and she and a couple of her friends were nice enough to pamper the girls for a couple of hours. It was so cute to see them all lined up on the bench just relaxing. What spoiled little princesses!
Kayleigh didn't really know what to expect but I think she really had fun and liked it. She liked the green scrub they used on her hands and feet but she thought it smelled yucky! Picking out her polish colors was also a lot of fun, so many colors to choose from.
Thanks a lot Marie, now the expectation has been set high for birthday parties! After we all enjoyed some ice cream from Dairy Queen before heading home. Yum!

Mazes

I recently spent $27 at Amazon.com on maze books for Landon. Within 4 days of receiving them the books are almost all complete. He is obsessed with them!!
The night we got the order he fell asleep with a book in his hands because he HAD to take it to bed with him.
