My leopard baby

Thanks, Nana, for this very cute outfit! We were worried it wouldn't fit, but it does. I'll just have to make sure I don 't put it in the dryer.

Winter storm

It looks like a blizzard outside! It's very windy and snowing hard. I just went out to check the mail and almost got blown away! There is snow all over our porch and even sticking to the front door. I am so glad I don't have to drive anywhere today! Sorry for those of you that do. :-) I get major stressed when I have to drive in the snow. I just don't want to get in an accident!

President Hinckley

Last night at about 8:30 my dad called us to see if we had heard the news about Pres. Hinckley, which we hadn't. I was shocked at first since we hadn't heard that he was sick or anything. After thinking about it for a minute I thought well, he was 97! I loved President Hinckley and he will be missed very much! I loved his sense of humor, how he just went straight to the point, how he was excellent with the media and his love for the people of the world. His extensive traveling was amazing as well as his temple building. His rigorous schedule is also something I won't forget, he just kept going! What a great example and legacy he left behind for all of us.

It's great to know that we'll see him again and that he has been reunited with his wife and parents. I am grateful for the blessing of the gospel in my life and I am thankful for his leadership. Something else that really stands out to me about him is that he kept the responsibility of being the head of the Tabernacle Choir even after being called as the president of the church. He took their work seriously and knew that music was important and could change lives.

I'm grateful that Kayleigh was able to have him as her president, even if it was just for a short time. I'm excited to tell her about him when she is older. God be with you till we meet again...

Kayleigh

A little explanation here: Kayleigh LOVES to help me type, so instead of getting frustrated over it I decided to just let her go for it and dedicate a post to her. When I told her it was time for her nap and to say goodbye to the computer, she waved goodbye, SO CUTE!

CUTE!

Now I know that most of my posts are about Kayleigh and you probably get sick of them, but what can I say, she is my life! I just had to post these pictures. They are so cute! Kayleigh got this new outfit from Gramma Suzy for her birthday. I just love the colors and the style. Thanks, Suzy! Kayleigh loves to play with her stacking cups from Christmas.

4,000 pounds of BEEF

After much complaining, this morning I got up bright and early (5:50) to go to the Wet Pack Canery and fill an assignment our ward had been given. Today's menu was beef chunks. As that may sound gross, just remember, "Beef, it's what's for dinner!" Now since I did complain a lot, I feel as if I have to apologize because it really wasn't that bad and I dare say even fun. I drove up to Ogden with a girl in our ward who I'd never met until she got into my car this morning. She's really nice and I enjoyed the company. After 2 1/2 hours there I touched about 4,000 pounds of beef as I pushed it into cans to be sealed, cooked and boxed up.

As it always seems after you do service projects I feel better and I am glad I could help out. The missionary there in charge said we would each leave today with blessings whether we wanted them or not. Kind of funny, but I feel as if I don't deserve them since I acted so dumb about the whole thing. Lesson learned: be more willing to serve next time the opportunity comes around.

Another girl!

My sister, Marie, found out today that she is having another girl! We are all very excited! This will make #5 granddaughter for my parents though, it's so funny! I guess our family can only do the girl thing. Congratulations to Marie and Chris and almost big sister Grace!

Party #3

Our girl is totally spoiled I think. On Sunday we had another party for her 1st birthday. This time it was with Michael's family at his parents' home. I, unfortunately, had to miss most of it because I had to go into work. Michael took some good pictures though and I did get to run over there while she opened her presents. Thanks everyone! Kayleigh loves playing with her new toys!
