On Saturday we took Kayleigh down to the Gateway with my family. It was her first time in the children's museum and I think she really had a fun time. The balls were her favorite! It was pretty busy so I think the next time we go we'll have to do a weekday. I thought it was pretty hot in the building so Kayleigh and I were sweating but still had a fun time.

Navajo Lake

Our trip this past week turned out really fun! We went with my family down to Navajo Lake which is just above Cedar City in Southern Utah. We stayed in two cabins just by the lake, it was beautiful! Kayleigh really enjoyed playing in the water and everytime we would have to go back to the cabin she would put up a fight.
We brought along my brother-in-law's dad's canoe and that was really fun! We all had a turn in it, including Kayleigh. (Pictures of me, Michael and Kayleigh in the canoe were taken with my mom's camera and I don't have them yet.) The lake is actually pretty shallow, but very clear and pretty. The last night that we were there Michael, myself, my parents, and my sister and her husband all went out on a star walk. It's amazing how much brighter and amazing the stars are when you are closer to them and the city lights don't take away from their brightness. I saw the Milky Way for the first time in my life, it was so cool! The Big Dipper was also very bright! The shadows on the lake at night were also amazing.
I was nervous that Kayleigh wouldn't sleep very well, but she surprised me and did very well! She thought it was so fun to be with Grace and Anna (her cousins) for an extended period of time and that they could sleep together in the same cabin. Each morning Grace would call Kayleigh's name and then Kayleigh would call hers. They even took naps, not their normal length, and were happy to be there. All the girls were so fascinated with all the rocks that were on the ground, it was funny! Even Anna had to bring a cup of rocks home with her.
On the ride home we stopped at a couple look-out points in Cedar Breaks, they were beautiful too! We also stopped to see some petrogliffs (don't know how to spell and Blogger's spell check isn't working) in Parawon. Overall it was a very fun trip, thanks Mom and Dad. (Note: the first pictures of Kayleigh and Michael playing on a big toy are of her in Fillmore when we stopped to get gas and lunch. The Maverik there has a playground for kids.)
It was really nice to get away and enjoy time with family. I enjoyed not worrying about phones, t.v., computers, how much money we don't have and work. The weather was SO NICE up there! It was in the 70's in the day and in the 40's at night. I loved having to put a sweatshirt on to stay warm!
