The cute new velour outfit
Special thanks to Michael's grandma for cutting off the pants so they weren't too long. Silly girl needs a 4T for her waist, but about a 2T in length.

Sledding
My parents created a huge pile of snow from their snowblowing. Kayleigh and my niece Grace LOVED sledding down it. Infact, we all enjoyed taking a ride down the hill.

Christmas Day
What a fun day! Kayleigh enjoyed her Christmas so much! We loved watching her and laughing, she had a blast. After each present she opened she would set it aside and say, "More Presents!" I think the 2 highlights of her were when she opened her doll and her kitchen. With the doll, she had been wanting one for so long. When she tore the paper off she said "Baby!!" Her eyes got so big and she was ecstatic. I now understand parents who say Christmas is about the kids. Kayleigh was just a baby last year so this year was much more fun as she understood that Santa came and brought things.
Kayleigh has also learned about Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph, or "Joeph" as she says. Any picture of Jesus that she sees now is Baby Jesus, even if it's a full grown Jesus. Kayleigh is sad now that she can't take a link off the paper chain any more and take an animal out of the Advent calendar. Oh well, next Christmas will be here before you know it right?
On Christmas afternoon we went to Michael's parent's house for Christmas dinner and more presents. Dinner was yummy! Potatoes, ham and cherry Jell-O. Michael's grandparents were there too and it was an enjoyable rest of the day. Michael and I got money (yahoo) and Kayleigh got 2 new books and a very cute velor outfit from Royal and Suzy. Michael's sister gave us a Whirley Pop popcorn maker, it makes very good popcorn! And she gave Kayleigh a very cute baking set to go along with her kitchen.
Michael's sister's family got a Wii for Christmas and we enjoyed playing bowling, tennis, skiing, etc. over the holidays with them. Unfortunately, they live 4 hours away so now that they went home we can't play it! We would love to get one of those some day.
Michael and I both gave each other new clothes. Michael needed new dress shirts and ties. I got a new coat, gloves, and sweaters! Some I picked out, others Michael surprised me with, he picks out some cute stuff I must say! He also gave me some new Pyrex dishes to replace all my old, yucky Tupperware. In each Pyrex dish was a piece of jewelry. It was fun to open everything and be surprised, thanks babe!
I truly think we had a wonderful Christmas. I will remember it always, how happy Kayleigh was and how fun it was to buy for her. It was her "1st" Christmas in a way.

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve was a very enjoyable day for us! Michael worked and did some last minute shopping-thanks for squeezing me in some gift buying time, hun! I went with Kayleigh to my mom's around 2:00 in the afternoon. I helped her get dinner ready and around 5 we all sat down to eat our annual Christmas dinner of German breakfast.
After dinner we sang Christmas songs like we always do and then opened presents. Kayleigh and her cousin Grace were so excited! They tore through their presents and then helped us parents to open ours. Michael and I got a Home Depot gift card which will be used shortly. Kayleigh got some new learning puzzles along with a huge pad of paper she is loving! My sister gave us some cute blocks that say "FAMILY".
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for all the work you put in to wrapping everything and buying it for us, we really had a great time. We did miss my brother and his family, but know they got our presents we sent. We finally got their package just after New Years, silly mail system.

Technical Difficulties
Attention fellow bloggers! Our computer is currently in the shop as it continually has issues. Hopefully we'll have it back by Wednesday, if not possibly January 3rd, 2009. We'll do many updates at that time. Sorry to keep you on edge!

Kayleigh's Christmas photo shoot
I love Kayleigh's dress this year, and the best part of it, it's a hand-me-down and didn't cost a penny!

One of many family parties
Last night we enjoyed spending time together with the Lyman family, Michael's mom's side. We read story of Jesus' birth from the Bible, sang songs, and played a couple of games. Grandma also made her famous ice cream cakes and we ate those right up. Kayleigh loved the ice cream! We like living close to all of these people and are grateful for this holiday season. Enjoy some pictures from our night, including one of Kayleigh's cousin, Brooke.
