2 month check-up

Last Friday was Landon's 2 month check-up. I've been to the doctor so many times with him already it's funny to think that this is only his 2 month check-up. He weighed in at 10 lbs. 2 oz (16th %tile) and 22 inches long, also 16th %tile. Anything below 95% I'm just not used to! His doctor was impressed though, because these %tiles are on the normal baby chart, not the preemie chart. He could have put him on the preemie chart and he would have been a lot higher but decided to just put him on the regular chart.

He is doing very well and we are so happy about his progress in his short 2 month life. The doctor said he will be behind for a little while in developmental things, but within 6 months he should be caught up. It's been fun to have him stay little for awhile, especially since Kayleigh grew so fast! I am looking forward to the day when he will sleep through the night! For now we feed him around 10 or 11 and he sleeps till around 4 or 5. I know I shouldn't complain too much, I just need my sleep!

Another Kayleigh Funny & Valentine's

Landon sporting his sister's first Valentine's outfit when she was little. I just had to put him in it!

Yesterday as we were watching the Olympics (I am loving the Olympics!) there was an ad on for Cymbalta. Now, if you don't know, Cymbalta is used for treating depression. During the ad Kayleigh said, "Mom, do you have that?" And I said "Have what?" And you can just guess what she said, "What her is talking about." Meaning depression, what the lady on the ad was talking about. Oh my heck, Michael and I just busted up laughing!

Well, Kayleigh, I have been a little depressed because I am ready to be over this nasty cold I've had. I think it's so not fair that moms get sick, we have so much responsibility we don't have time to be sick. Luckily Michael has been home this past weekend including Monday because of President's Day. Last night was the first time in 5 nights I've had to get up with Landon, thanks, honey!

Our Valentine's Day was spent at home. Michael attended church and did the Sharing Time in Primary for me. I prepared it but had no voice to give it. Michael also led the ward choir in Sacrament. So while he was busy at church I was home with the kids trying to get better.

The night before we did go out though. Once again, I wish I had felt better for our date, it's like the first one we've gone on in months. My parents watched the kids while we went down to the Gateway. We saw the movie Valentine's Day and then ate at Rumbi afterwards. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

Bedtime

Kayleigh is quite funny when it comes to bedtime. I should say frustrating, but I'll stick with funny. Anyway, she's been in bed for over an hour now but still isn't asleep. As I sit here and blog, I've got the monitor on and I love listening to her. A few minutes ago she was singing, "I know you, and you know me," it's from a Primary song. Just barely she said, "Mom, maybe we can go to Bubba's sometime. " It just cracks me up! What else is going on in that mind of hers?

While I'm on the subject of funny things she says, earlier today when I was driving my kids to my mom's house before I went to work Kayleigh asked me why the air was so smoky. Well, the answer to that is because we've had a horrible inversion since like December I think. But, in simpler terms I said our air is dirty and we need some rain or snow to come and clean it up. She then said, "Or maybe some workers can clean it up with a towel or something." Don't we wish...

Pictures

Kayleigh and Landon's hands.

He really does open his eyes.

She loves giving him hugs and kisses!

Michael's grandma made this quilt for Landon.
Every morning she is excited to see him when I get him out of the crib.
Had to document for myself how his legs are filling out, not so wrinkly anymore.
Such a cute picture of my kids!

I am really trying to enjoy my little guy right now while he's so little, but man they are a lot of work! Funny how you forget that. They grow so fast and I'm really trying to savor him, but being so tired is starting to wear on me. I feel bad because I'm short with Kayleigh sometimes because I'm so tired! Poor girl, thank goodness little ones are so forgiving.

Anyway, other than no sleep, we are doing good. Thought I'd put some more pictures on here for my sis-in-law who's been asking to see more, and for anyone else interested. As soon as Landon's RSV shot is approved thru our insurance then I'll take him to the dr. again and I'll have a weight update. Lots of people ask me how much he weighs and I'm guessing around 9 lbs. now but I don't know for sure. He is starting to fill out though, that's for sure. I think soon we'll be out of newborn things and on to 0-3 months. It's funny, with Kayleigh she was out of newborn things after 2 weeks!

Happy Birthday Kayleigh!

I can't believe I have a three year old now. Wow, how time flies. She just seems so big to me, especially since we have a tiny little one now. At least I can say she's three now instead of two when people ask. Hopefully their jaw won't drop as much. Michael took her to the doctor today and she is 40 lbs. (98%) and 40 3/4 in. (99%). Her doctor said she is looking good and right on schedule for where she should be.

On her birthday she got to go with her daddy to McDonald's for lunch. She is always begging me to go there when we drive by it so I thought it was a good idea. I think she had a lot of fun! When I got home from work I brought home some balloons for her, she was very excited over them! Soon after getting them home though the pink one popped out of nowhere. Kayleigh immediately started to cry and it took like 15 minutes to calm her down I swear! I told her we'd go and get another one, but she was convinced the store wouldn't have any more pink ones. After lunch Michael took her to get another one and then she was happy again. That evening we had a fun party planned with our family. Both sets of her grandparents came, along with my sister and her family and my younger brother. In our little family room it felt like a packed house!

We started out with some games, Pin the bow on Daisy Duck and Super Sleuth Bingo. (Thank you www.playhousedisney.com/celebrationcenter. ) For prizes the kids got a little fishing set (thanks to Dollar Tree) and the adults got candy. We all enjoyed watching each other pin the bow on Daisy, and Kayleigh won the game, getting the closest! Kayleigh and her cousin, Grace, were determined that they didn't have Bingo until their entire card was filled up, it was pretty funny! Thanks to everyone for being good sports about the games and participating.

After games Kayleigh got to open her presents which she'd been dying to do since I set them out. We did let her open one in the morning but she had to wait for the rest until her party. Thanks, everyone for the presents! She has loved playing with all of her new things.
Cake and ice cream followed the presents. This year I didn't make any fancy cake, too much going on. But we did do cupcakes and Kayleigh wanted pink ones so pink ones she got. Happy Birthday Kayleigh, we love you!

Just for fun

Here are some recent photos I've taken of Landon and I thought I'd post them for some viewing pleasure. It's funny, I've often heard that the first baby you have gets tons of pictures taken of them and then subsequent children don't get as much. But, it our case, I think I take a whole lot of Landon, too!

Watching Bubba play

The night before Kayleigh's birthday Davis had a home basketball game so Michael decided to take Kayleigh to it. If you'll remember from a few months ago, we went to the Davis football game to see Michael's cousin, Bubba, play. He also plays on the basketball team and so we thought it'd be fun for Kayleigh to go to it because she loves Bubba! I think she has a little crush on him. They had a great time together on a little daddy/daughter date! It was especially fun because Davis won and Bubba got to play more than usual.
