What's new?

Landon is sitting up! Every once in awhile he falls over, but he is doing pretty good at it. It's so nice because he can sit and play with a few toys and keep himself entertained. Kayleigh will even sit with him for a few minutes and they'll play together.

And now for even more exciting things at our house, I am done pumping! That might be TMI but I am just so excited about it. Let's face it, I'm not excited to have to buy formula, but that's pretty much the only down side. It's so nice to not have to pump in the morning when I'm trying to get everyone breakfast, then again at dinner time, and before bed. I am proud of myself though, that I stuck it out for almost 8 months. Hooray!

Our holiday

Landon slept thru most of the parade.
Daddy and Kayleigh at the Kaysville parade.

We had a pretty good spot right on Main Street and it wasn't even that hot.
These girls liked watching the entries go by, they loved seeing the float with the Disney princesses and loved getting candy!
Landon wanted some of Michael's lemonade SO BAD! It was so funny to watch him.

The girls playing with Landon.

Water balloons!
Grace and Phoebe.
Kayleigh with a pink balloon, her favorite color.

Kayleigh playing horseshoes.

Kayleigh by the newest feature of my parent's yard, the river. It's hard to tell from a picture, but it really looks amazing!
Pretty flowers in the yard.

Grandpa cooking our dinner, yum!

Sisters! Don't you love the beads?? Taco Time gave those out at the parade.

Happy boy!

Another birthday party for Michael, and yes, Landon is wearing Kayleigh's bib, I couldn't find his at the moment.

We had a fun filled Saturday to celebrate America's birthday. It started early for Michael who ran in the Kaysville 5K. My mom ran in it also. Michael ran it in just under 27 minutes, I think that's great!

Once they finished the run, we headed down to my parent's house for a very good breakfast. We had scones, lots of fruit and sausage. We quickly ate and then headed up to the parade. We got there just in time as it was starting. Kayleigh just loved watching everything go by. Us adults thought it was kind of lame, not that many floats and a lot of advertising. Oh well, we did it for the kids anyway.

After the parade we ran home so our kids could have a nap, then headed back to Nana and Grandpa's house. The grand kids played horseshoes and water balloons while we prepared dinner. We had lots of veggies cooked on the grill, more fruit and bratwurst, it was very tasty!

The day flew by and then it was already time to head up to see the fireworks. We went to our annual spot on the field of the junior high. The girls had a great time playing with their glow sticks aunt Marie had gotten them, what a great idea! The fireworks were fun, Michael thought the finale was kind of lame. Overall, we had a really fun day together!

This video is so cute of Landon! He was rocking like crazy in his saucer on the 3rd.

Michael's Birthday

Nice hat, all the kids wanted him to wear it.
He looks like a chipmunk with those cheeks all full of air!

On the second of July Michael turned 29. Only one more year till he's 30! This year he was lucky enough to be able to take work off for his special day. He woke up early to go golfing with some buddies from the ward. They only got to play 9, but Michael loves any golfing he can get in. Later that day we ran errands together, including Costco which Michael loves! After lunch there (cheapest pizza and hot dogs around=cheapest lunch around) we headed home for naps. The kids got naps while I cleaned up the house and made a birthday cake.

That night we ate dinner at El Matador with Michael's parents. It was yummy! We haven't been there in awhile. We had the best waitress, Melanie. She's our neighbor and it was fun to have her help us.

After dinner we came home and a couple of our friends came over for cake and ice cream. I think Michael had a pretty fun day and since he was off from work, it made for a really long weekend with the 4th holiday. It's always a bummer when he has to go back to work. Last night I got the Monday night blues (normally the Sunday night blues) because our weekend was over.

June

My little pimped out man!
All ready for bed.

This summer is just flying by! I haven't posted in awhile and I know we were busy doing things the last half of June, but I honestly can't remember what. So, here's a couple pictures from June and with that, I'm moving on to July.

The Living Planet Aquarium

On Memorial Day I really wanted to do something fun with our little fam. Since Michael had received two free tickets to the Living Planet Aquarium we decided to head down to Sandy.

It was pretty busy that day, which was expected, but we had a fun time. I really liked seeing the penguins, pipe fish, octopus and seahorses. Kayleigh was obsessed with any fish that resembled Nemo or Dorrie, and there were plenty, so that was fun for her.

Michael touched the sting rays and he thought that was neat. Kayleigh and I passed on the opportunity. The sharks were pretty cool, too, but there was only one that we could see really well in the tank, the others were in the back in the dark.

On the way home my mom called us and invited us over for dinner, roasted over the fire. We gladly accepted and headed over there. Kayleigh loved roasting marshmallows and being with Nana and Grandpa.

How do I?

In all of my blog surfing, I see such cute fonts used for titles and posts. And I also like when people have names/words written on their header picture, but not in the ugly blogger fonts. So, all you savvy bloggers out there, teach me!

Sugar Cookies

On Sunday Kayleigh and I made sugar cookies. We kind of cheated, it was a mix someone gave us at Christmas time, but we still had to roll the dough out and use cookie cutters and everything. I think Kayleigh really had a great time helping me. We got flour everywhere! Thank goodness flour cleans up easy. She loved putting sprinkles on them after I frosted them and of course eating them is her favorite part, mine too.

Swimming

Last week Landon swam for the first time. He really seemed to like it! Daddy just held him the whole time and he like playing around with his big sis. Kayleigh thought it was great to have him in with her. She is always very excited when he gets to try new things, okay, so am I. :-) I am sure these pictures are just the first of many, many more to come.

6 month check-up

Landon went to the doctor yesterday! He is growing so fast! He weighed in at 17 lbs. 10 oz. (52%tile) and is 27 inches long (71%tile). We are trying to ween him off his Prevacid for acid reflux, it is so expensive. So, we'll see how that goes here in the next month. His doctor said he's doing great, so until his 9 mo. check-up in September, hopefully we'll stay out of the doctor's office.

What a pretty day

While we were outside today watering our plants and the garden, Kayleigh randomly said, "What a pretty day!" She's exactly right, after lots of rainy days, we have a beautiful day today. Welcome summer, we are glad you have arrived. I especially like days in the 70's and 80's, the 90's aren't my favorite, but oh well. Days are going so fast that before I know it it will be September anyway.
