Halloween cookies

Yesterday we made cookies at my mom's house. Marie came up with her girls and it was really fun. We laughed super hard at how the kids helped, or thought they were helping, and how they decorated the cookies.

My mom's sugar cookie recipe is the best in my opinion and I love her frosting, too. Thank goodness we live close and get to do all these fun things. Happy Halloween!

It's church time

My husband is really great! One of the reasons he's so great is because every Sunday he gets the kids ready for church while I'm getting ready. (Except for Kayleigh's hair which I do.)

Last Sunday he took some pictures of them and I think they are so cute! Kayleigh's face is pretty red though, I'm not sure why.

This is what happens when you have a big head, can't get the sweatshirt off!
Alright fellow cougar fans, here is the newest member of the cheering croud. Isn't he a cutie? I dug Kayleigh's sweatshirt out and thought Landon could wear it. Any guesses on what size it is? It's a 4/6X kids size. Now, keep in mind they do run small, but really, my 10 month old can wear it? Hah! What a stud.

Slowly but surely I'll get caught up with this blog...maybe. Over Conference weekend we were invited to go up to a cabin in Bear Lake with our friends the Erickson's and the Hawkes. It ended up being so much fun! The cabin was beautiful! Tyler and Caprice built it, they did an amazing job, you guys are so talented.

We left kind of late Friday night and got there at 10:45. We unloaded and got the kids to bed which seemed to be quite a process, more than it normally is. It didn't help that Kayleigh got a bloody nose, poor thing. We've started putting Aquaphor in her nose every night which her doc said should help. We attempted to watch a movie, that didn't work out as everyone fell asleep.
Saturday we enjoyed a delish breakfast of crepes with strawberries. Then we just hung out watching conference and playing with the kids. The guys went golfing in the afternoon and then headed to priesthood while we had dinner and got the kids ready for bed.

That night we had a ton of fun! We played games and laughed a lot, it was great! After going to bed at 3:30 a.m., we all had to get up way too soon on Sunday. Once again we just relaxed and watched conference and ate a lot. I was in charge of dinner Sunday night before we all headed home. We had Hawaiian haystacks, they turned out great.

Thanks to Tyler and Caprice for letting us come up, you were great hosts! Love ya!

Seriously?

So last Wednesday while I was mowing the lawn I got stung by a bee/wasp. All of the sudden I felt a pain on my arm so I shook my arm, but I could still see something on it. With my other hand I brushed it off. It all happened so fast that I'm not exactly sure what got me. Anyway, I finished mowing the lawn and it still hurt, but not that bad and I pretty much forgot about it.

Well, a couple of days ago I noticed that it was bugging me, kind of itchy. Still I just brushed it aside. Last night I showed it to my dad (pharmacist) and because of the redness and swelling, he told me to have it checked out.

This morning I went to the doctor and she said that it looks like it's infected. It's really hot and hard. A week later it should be better, not getting worse. So now I'm on antibiotics and hoping it will get better. Really! All I was trying to do was help my husband so he wouldn't have to mow the lawn and this is what I get?? J/K.

Happy Day

I am just LOVING this autumn weather! It is my favorite time of year for sure. The leaves are starting to change around us and it is beautiful. I decorated my porch with cornstalks and pumpkins last week. As I did that it got me excited for the coming months of holidays. It is a great time of year, busy, but great.

Today both my kids have a cold. Darn it! I hate when anyone in my family is sick. Poor Landon's nose is running like crazy and he HATES when I wipe it. Let's face it, what kid likes his nose to be wiped? Anyway, hope you are having a nice Monday and enjoying this weather.

2 Questions

#1- Does anyone out there have season 6 of The Office? I'd love to borrow it if you do.

#2- I have painted some wood with acrylic paint, is there something I can put over it to make it shiny?

Milestone Week

He loves his binki.
What a cutie with his new hair cut!
Look at all that dark hair!
Just after his hair cut. And for those wondering, he's holding a toy piece of chicken-he loves it!

Landon's had lots of exciting things happen this past week! On Wednesday Kayleigh and I got him to wave at us, it was so cute! He was waving to Kay and then she'd wave back. Only thing is, now he doesn't want to do it for anyone. On Friday is first tooth popped through. It's one of his bottom front ones. Then, on Saturday, we gave him his first hair cut. It was getting pretty long over his ears and so we decided it was time. I was kind of sad right after we did it, but then on Sunday it was all done with gel and he looked so handsome!

Now, unrelated to Landon, yesterday we had our primary program in our ward and I am so glad it's over now! I was in charge of the whole thing, from writing it to assigning parts and sitting by the pulpit helping kids say their parts. They did pretty good, but they did better in rehearsal. Oh well, it's intimidating to stand up there. I hate getting up there!

Landon 9 months

Today I took Landon in for his well check. He is doing great! He weighed in at 22.4 lbs. (74%) and 29 1/2 in. (84%) and his head is in the 92%tile. I think we have a healthy baby on our hands! Who would ever think he was a preemie?

He got his first flu shot today and will have to go back in October for his booster. He only cried for just a minute, what a brave little guy! After he was done, he got a sucker. His first one ever and I was grateful I had his bib in the diaper bag! He thoroughly enjoyed every last bit of it and was sad when it was gone.

We are so happy that he is doing so well. Healthy kids are a blessing.

We're Home!

We made it home today from our big family trip to the coast of Oregon. It was a ton of fun! Posts to come soon so check back.
